The annual Helsinki comics festival will be held again between the 7.9-9.9.2012. I will be selling high quality poster prints of my paintings for the first time on the Indie side of the festival (pienlehtitaivas) during the Saturday 8th.
Come and check out what I've been up to, buy a poster or two, or just to say hi.
Hope to see you there!

There's 12 paintings in total from the last 1.5 years or so. I spent some time during the summer polishing a few of these since they were not quite finished enough in my mind.
The festival will be a success for me if I manage to sell even one them, mostly though I'm just really fracking curious to hear any comments or feedback these might provoke.

Thanks Whom!
Sadly I'm still left with 2 weeks of waiting and feeling nervous & antsy before
the festival takes place. |

Okeydokey, the festival weekend is now done and I can only say that it was a blast to hear and see people's reactions to the images.
I got a lot of insightful comments and even managed to sell a few prints. Also, whenever people where asking about where I learned to paint, I pimped Sijun like crazy.
Anyway, can't wait for next years festival.

Ah lol now I can ask how it did turn out... nah just kiddin.
Interesting to hear what others are up to, any particular piece that people liked more?
I think you have an interesting mix of scenery in these, it's why I'm asking. |

"Ah lol now I can ask how it did turn out... nah just kiddin. "
There was such a wide variety of comments and reactions to the pieces during the weekend that it is
a bit hard to say anything definite about them. It was just really interesting to hear them all and talk with
people in general, since I don't go out much anyhow.
Something that definitely stood out though, were horizontal landscape pieces. Those were
the ones that people bought the most, sci-fi and the more "mainstream" pieces alike.
The colourful paintings seemed to draw people in and the near greyscale painting of the tree
and the crow seemed to get the most... admiration?
I think it would be interesting to find a second venue next year from some other
event/convention to see if the reactions differ at all. |
