It's been a long time since I've posted here, but I'm hoping to find the time to contribute regularly again.

Not a speedy in and of itself, more like 3 speed paintings worth of work.

Some more quick turn around production work at my blog: http://jdmcdade.blogspot.ca/

And an actual speedy Smile

Thanks sam, I appreciate it.

Whom, the wings on your central character seem flat and stiff. Perhaps take a look at a few pictures (or youtube vids) of the ways a bat arcs and stretches its wings?

To me, the wings are the central compositional element of the image: if you were looking to improve just one thing, I would start with really trying to draw some life into them; use them as an expressive tool to set the tone for the whole image perhaps?.

Just a thought.

A WIP character design I worked up today. I'd very much appreciate hearing peoples' impressions on what's not working.

FallDamage, np!

And as a comment to the knight, I think a more graceful pose might suit him better? I picture him easily moving like a dancer with those 2 swords... or maybe he is a complete berserker? In that case all that white armor is going to be soaked in blood. Very Happy

Here's the closest that I could find as an example:

MatejaPetkovic, those robot/sci-fi designs are excellent! The first ones you posted had a fantastic Borderlands vibe to them.

Whom, I think the 2 creatures in the foreground make the painting too busy, they distract my attention too much from the dramatic arrival of the main characters. But that's just my opinion. Awesome piece again!
