Wow, it's been like forever since the last speedpainting... Here's a change to that.
I had time on my hands at work today and a brand spanking new Photoshop CS6 in front of me... I tried painting with it and in short, I strongly dislike it. It feels clunky, buggy, slow, and a general pain in the ass to try to paint with it. For graphic design, it seems to be the same as before. :-/
And for those who are interested, my work computer is a 2yrs old Macbook Pro, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB ram, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB. CS5 on that same setup was only slow.

ZM, I appreciate it thanks. Yea I do have this folder that I keep rambling about with pieces that have potential for a more finished look, we'll see. That particular one above is in that folder though....
Worked over an old piece of mine, needs more atmosphere...
In the fade.....

Hol gringos,
Here's some speedies, the first one is from a thumbnail you can see a couple of posts before on this page.
And the second one I actually dreamt about it yesterday, and really wanted to paint it today ! |

samhell, I worked on it a little bit more but I've got the worst flu ever so I cannot decide whether it became better or not, eyes are rinning like hell. Thanks again, you're too kind to me.

Hehe, youre welcome. You sure it's not the allergies? with all the sneezing that I've been through during the past month, I'm happy I do not use real paints anymore...
Regarding the painting though, I like the pathway and to me the destination looks like a face of an bird, could there be a big opening like a mouth where the character is heading to?
Also, I get the feeling that this place is really high up, so from the sketch I get the the impression that what shows below is only clouds or distant details of the ground.
I think that would be trademark Whom-Matthew-hugescaleofshitblowsyourmind-awesomeness.
And that being said, I think you don't need the dark mass on the left to frame the shot? But it's hard to say for sure since you are still playing with the components.
Hope this helps, total brainfart this was... food. x____x |

samhell, thanks again. I changed the dark mass, you have good eyes.
I still need to mess around with the piece to get a better perspective though, things in background and foreground are contradicting the middle ground as it is now.
