Waaa Mon, that creature looks like it's oil painted, renaissance/clair-obscure style.
You nailed it ! Did you do these on painter?
I'm a bit sad there's not more details on the landscape one, the color palette and textures are great!
Also Hideyoshi, that composition looks so cool hehe. Nice dynamism !
Here's something different :

I just got water based oil color's and I started testing how they
work. I also got David Dunlop's DVD series Landscapes through
time and that gave me a very good starting point.
The first one I did was using his online tutorial where he did a 10
minute study of Camille Corot's Prout's Neck.
Second one was a bit harder. It was a tutorial from his DVD
where he does Claude Monet's Water lilies.
I didn't get this one to work as well as I would have liked to but
here it is anyway. I might come back to this when I get more
experience.

Do you mix those faces and then render it in an abstract way or paint it all on the fly ?

Looks pretty goddamn sweet petri... How do water based oil colors differ from acrylics? Just longer drytime? |

Here's a robot sketch I was able to bang out during my lunch break..I plan on refining more and perhaps doing a sketch.
Simon- I really like those ipad paintings. I'll try to post my ipad sketches soon. What program are you using?
