The image definitely conveys a strong creepy feel. The color choices are bold and harmonize with the feeling the image conveys.

I'm a little conflicted on parts, thought. So here's my rundown -

What I love:
- Good lighting on the standing figure
- Great details on the rabbit
- The standing figure's hand is pretty believable

What I'm not sure about:
- Your lightsource. There seems to be conflicting / random lightsources
- The standing figure's left butt cheek seems too far back when you look at the nearly pure-portrait stance of the right foot / ankle / leg
- The rendering on the bowed figure is definitely wonky. Needs more rendering and smoother transitions

Overall, the main downside is that I have no idea what's going on Smile The most important aspect of a piece to me is how it makes people feel. For that to be possible, it needs to say something and it needs to say something clearly. I want to feel creeped out, which you conveyed very well in the general sense. BUT the overall story is unclear, so therefore my feelings are also unclear.

Good work, though! Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for your reply. I was aiming the light source to come from behind the figures hanging near the top, but I see what you mean about it being random at parts for example the little blotch of light on the leg on the person bowing. But can you show me where else? I thought I did an ok job on the lighting. Also, yes I agree that the bowing figure looks wonky, I painted him without any reference so that's probably why. I think it may be the curve of his back.

My friend told me he's not sure about what's going on either, I guess it's pretty unclear. To be honest, I don't really feel comfortable explaining what the meaning behind the image is because it's very personal to me, I'm sorry. I'll definitely keep in mind that people like to feel connected with the artwork next time. Thanks alot for your advice though I appreciate it.

Here's a piece I started a long time ago. I decided to finish it up today. I have so many unfinished pieces, I really should finish them all.

Please tell me what you think.

Those pics look great! I love the atmosphere and mood. Great portrait work. Smile

And I totally understand the unfinished stuff. I'm generally trying to learn new techniques or to get an effect down, so when I get it, I tend to lose interest in my subject. I've got a TON of unfinished projects. Which probably isn't good, because most of the real skill comes in the patience of finishing the piece off well.

And don't get me wrong, you did a good job with rendering the lighting in the OP. I think the problem comes in the strength of the ambient light as well as a consistent direction for your main light source. For example, the light on the standing guy's left leg is considerably brighter than the light on the back of his right leg. But a strong back-left light source isn't affecting the guy bowing, the rabbit, or the grass. The main light source seems to be the diffused lighting from the sun / clouds, but the placement on the bowed me shows it's strongly on his back which is facing up and right, whereas it shows on the rabbit's forehead, which is facing up and left.

But I hope that doesn't sound like I'm not saying it's good work Smile There's always something we can work on.

If you get a sec, drop by my portfolio-ish thread. It's just below yours and titled "The Work of V." The last ones are the most recent, so those are more indicative of where I am now. I'll try to post something new today. I'd love your feedback / critiques.
