Is it true that artists with good self confidence, the type of artists that gets all the chicks, are the ones that are best with colours? Maybe this is why many of the great artists comes from France...

Not many great artists come from France, therefore it's not true.

Confidence in art makes a better artist. (moreso in brushstroke than color I would think)
Confidence attracts women. So so far your theory holds up.
But I am not sure if having one type of confidence means having the other....
Very interesting point though...

hehe

It's absolutely untrue.

I've had more chicks than I can count with my hands and feet, and my colors aren't all that great.

That sounds logical, intelligible and like a statement that was well thought through and which is without any doubt scientifically well-based...

Lunatique- You are great with colours. Don't try to tell me otherwise.

Reworked theory: You draw better overall if you have more confidence. And if you are evil. All men I know that are good at drawing are evil. It's as if they can't help it.

Does one draw better under the influence of alcohol/other condidence enhancing stuff?
I've never tried it.

I find that I'm better at drawing when I'm really angry or just after I've made a phonecall... when something clouds my mind. And when everybody else is sleeping.

How could drugs (except thc) or booze possibly help your artistic skills?

Heh. The reason that guys with artability 'always' get the chicks is that when they ask some bombshell to pose nude for a life study and so that they can draw a portrait, they actually can. Then the girls get melty and ooze all over the guy. Oh yeah. Drawing is a specialty skill, and people love and envy others with those skills.

Same thing with photographers, eh, Lunatique?

Booze doesn't make a great artist, insomnia does.

Snorkles-- nononono. People like Mullins, Manely, Seeglmiller, Pro..etc are awesome with colors. I'm just some 2nd rate artist who will spend the rest of his life trying to catch up to masters of that calibur.

f3nce- photography works too. But it's not as romantic as drawing a portrait. It is far sexier though. hehe.

There are a bunch of artists who are ingenious with their colour choices that just don't get the credit because they aren't in the 'spotlight' as often as Craig, or Jason.

Vyle is incredible. Janne is wonderful. Pat Duke is great. Sedone always has stunning palettes. There are many. I admire them all.

I think it might be a question of determination. Getting an idea and sticking to it.
A good example of this is Van Gogh. He was an adult when he suddenly decided to be an artist, right? And you can see in his drawings that he is very dermined, i think.
Good artists are mostly rigid and evil bastards maybe?
