I saw mine on a business card at Reel Inn. I kinda liked the way it rolls off the tongue. I do believe though that it really was someones real name.

From the Transylvanian ruler that started the whole fear of la lamia, Vlad the Impaler.
Figured it was cool enough, plus the dude had this vampirish style. Classy.

I've been asked countless times ! It means a Muse from Greek mythology among other things (alegoria of inspiration, a wasp, etc)..
I got it when a friend called me his egeria and that was so flattering ! About the same time I heard it in one my fetish singer song.. and since about 5 years ppl on IRC know me as "ege"
egerie (ey jey ree) who used to go by the nick 'arale' on BBSs (ahh.. door games... ) |

first of all: i'm a guy. most people assume otherwise, and i guess i don't blame them.
the history:
in 1995, in the bbs scene, everyone was choosing weirder and weirder nicks. things like armageddon donut or pigs in space man. so i wanted to go one further and just get the strangest unexplainable nick ever.
so i asked around, and one of my friends said "call yourself jennifer" and i said "no way, that's not weird." then someone said "hennifer" and history was made.
so there you go. not that you care.

Well one day I sat there and I was thinking Really hard and I came up with a SUPER Cool nickname it was like the penultimate thing I could think of in Cool.
Then I fucked up and typed my real name in and now I can't remember what my "Cool" name was and everyone hates me. |

Brishen, Old English Gypsy or Gaelic name meaning, loosely, "Child who brought rain," or "Born during a rain," or something about "Child who brings the storm."
It feels so Doorsy. Guess what my theme song is? You got it. "Riders on the storm....." Do do do.
:P
Love'n'hugs,

Was a character in Ludovico Aristo's Epic poem The Orlando Furioso (I think got the spellin rite).
I was always into Fantasy stuff, I tried to work Robert Jordan, Janny Wurts, and Aristo in to a huge final essay thing in HS were you had to compare three books.
An epic poem has to be above 30000 lines I think, But the teachers didn't really understand the word "epic" I had to show them this 800 page poem to get them understanding.
It now stands as one of my favorite pieces of fantasy, which is pretty amazing seeing as it was written in the 1500 hundreds. Once you read that much poetry you can almost speak in rhyme.
Scary, but true.

Svanur is actually my first name and it stands for Swan in the english language(the bird you know). Decided to use my name rather than a nick because my name is a bit cool in a weird way (*megalomaniac laughter*) But usually use the nick Gourry, which is a name of an anime character from a series called Slayers. |

I go by Visigothan -- but the damned forum wouldn't let me register a 10 character nick. =P
Visi -- from the latin, meaning "west/western"
goth -- from the latin, meaning savage/barbarian
"an" suffix also from the latin, meaning "citizen" or "member of"
...So... I'm a member of the western goths.
