Long time no post here! I think ive improved a little, so maybe im worthy of posting here this time around.
My main focus in this piece was keeping it loose where it need to be loose. I always fall into the trap of starting details too early, but i think i reached a good balance this time. My process is simply black and white sketch -> various texture overlays -> tightening it up with the good ol' round brush. I think ive found a nice flow with this style and i like the look, so ill definetly try to work more on these kind of pieces. A little conan'ish dont you think?
I would like critique on how to improve the atmosphere and feel of the image especially, but all kinds of crit/paintovers are welcome!

First thought (might be more): maybe localize the contrast up front, closer to where the action is?
Right now there's a lot of dark/contrast on the creature's back and less around the human figure - reverse of what it should be? |

I feel like the foreground also feels a lot further away than it should because of the mist in front of it. I think it would work better with no mist infornt of the foreground!
Might be somethings to try out |
