...and how did you come up with?
I don't know if this question is asked before but I was always wondering how some people get their nick names...
I've been here for a while and I see some members here have some really weird nick names...
I would like to know how you came up with your nicknames, what's the story behind them?
What do they mean?
*Hmmm...(??)*

I've had this nick since I was about 12 or 13 when I went onto BBS's. It's basically the name of someone who creates way too much, then gets burnt out - or singed. Just didn't like the spelling.

Mine comes from the fact that I used to play hockey. Puck (obviously) is from the vulcanized rubber that can be shot at speed upwards of 80 mph. Dewd is just another way of spelling dude, d00d, etc... |

Synax (pronounced sigh-nax) <-- Just take a look at it... So many people call me Syntax, which I hate, but that's where my name originated from. I was doing a search way back in the day when I first got the Internet and it came up w/ a "syntax error" Never saw the word before that day, and thought it was pretty cool, so I just ripped out the "T" and there you have it. It was original for a few years, but like everything, it got copied...

Mine originated from a trip I took the zoo whilest in Texas. They had lemurs on display, and on threw a pile of crap right in a an obnoxious tourist's face.
I thought to myself...."Cool....there's a critter with his priorities in order"....

When I was signing up for the art forum, someone was whistling the flinstones theme. But I like to change names to sound pheonetically the same way, but have totally different words. Nice forum to take a break from the art chatter...but still have the same faces er nicknames to yap with... |

I saw the most amazing movie. It was a radical idea about life, and it got me to thinking.
I saw it about the time I was getting tired of my old nick.
Neo is short and sweet.

My name comes from the good old times of C64. There was a game called "nexxus". If you drop one x it means something like "burning point, focus", I liked that so I called myself Nex.
I was really po'd when they brought the name up in that startrek movie... since then a lot of people call themselves nexxus.

It's named after the latest Creed album.. of course, it has some artistic metaphors related to it as well.

Argh, got this nick 2, maybe 3 years ago? Been watching Lexx, and this guy named Shadow (and i been looking for a nick, its when i first got the internet) so i'm like, COO!! and then 2 years later, my good friend changed his name from SatanaClaus to Shizo... and we play games alot together so i wanted to make it sound cool so my secondary name is Shazow... and now in everquest its morphing into Shaxow =0 sounds (or at least looks) C00ler!!
I woulda made it neo after i saw the matrix but i'm not that cheap =) i never rip anything of anything good, only the suxy stuff like Lexx... hehehe (damn i hate lexx now)

Well, mine is kinda sick and twisted. I started using this nick when I entered a local Quake tournament. (I won!) I'm really good at first person shooter games and I have a talent to find unique ways to frag people with all the different weapons. Which is like the comicbook character I got the name from. Jess Chapel the man who killed Al Simmons who eventually became SPAWN. Also, one of the few good guy characters to go bad.. go to hell.. then take over. And he is the only cartoon character I've seen do a girl doggy style in a cartoon. (He is in the Spawn cartoon on HBO.) See... told you it was sick and twisted. |

seas.of.blood, but just seas here cause its easier to type and everybody would think i was a weird if i used the other name, it just came from this fucked up poem i made.
or Morphid, which was just cause i used this lame ass morphing prog like 6 yrs ago and i just add id
or Adamantine, cause i like greek names so i looked up this greek encyclopediae thingie on the net and went through it untill i found a cool one, this means like 'very shiny' or 'very brave' or something.....
or m02, which would be like the artcompany thingie if i ever start that up, and my webpage is called that, which is not finished yet, well cause all these other artcompanies have like 1 letter and sum numbers after it, so i just took m from morphid and added 02 |

Book. William Gibson. Main character, there of. Also appears in Mona Lisa Overdrive, which was more of an inspiration, since in that book, Count Zero (aka Bobby Newmark), has actually achieved something I can only dream of: semi-godhood in his own mini-universe. Read the Sprawl-trilogy, (Neuromancer, Count Zero & Mona Lisa Overdrive), it'll make more sense then.
Been using it for several(5?) years now...
Occasionally use nick "Slimepuppy". That comes from the absolutely hilarious comic-series "Dirty Pair". It's a term used by Kei to describe Yuri's newest boyfriend:
"Oh, Jean...Fred...Slimepuppy...Whatever your name is..."

truth - i don't like my real name, so i hide behind an alias. first name's ok, but it's not neat enough to use for art.. an alter ego, if you will. and Nova sounded kinda cool. as for coming up with it, i spent months pondering different names, and decided on this one because of its meaning (as posted on the splash graphic on my site)
