Insane Lemur, It sure is an interesting discussion and I really appreciate your conversation. Think I am drifting away from this speedy thinking more and more, good pictures really need second thinking and planned composition. As you said a more specific idea, which works better for me but the elements really need to be planned.
Seems to me that people liked my pics that was more planned according to what I found out from my blog and the voting system.
I rebooted the blog though, felt wordpress had a better system. Had to find that wb-content thingy though but after some hours it started to work. lol.

A little semi-abstract watercolor sketch inspired by a song.

matthew-i agree with you- i used to always try to jump in and paint an awesome picture then go play videogames lol, problem was, an awesome picture was never painted- i think starting over again and again and sketching is a good way to get an understanding-and a little plan can go a long way-seems like when i've got a plan the happy accidents work better.
i might try just one more of these-problem is i haven't been changing it up between sketches enough-which is where the benefit comes from in repeating I think-always trying new things with the same thing you learn more, but when i've tried the same thing with the same thing it gets a little dull... trying to use a wider variety of workings though, will only use a certain brush for a few strokes then switch, it helps keep my brain on at least...

*Stares in dispelief at the past few pages of the thread*
...
Two speedyish paintings with me playing around with random shapes and seeing what comes out. Interesting experiments.
