Unfortunately Mongoose is still among us, he's been known as Corn Pops and Frosted Flame (there must have been some other accounts too), and is now called Pixelsoldier... his real (?) name is Chris Perry and regarding his latest posts he hasn't changed much.

As an user named Mongoose he was total asshole, but when he was using the name Frosted Flame I thought he had changed, he even sent me an email asking if I could colour a pic of his, well I thought the image looked very promising so I just had to colour it.. dunno know if he actually drew it but here's the coloured version, haven't shown it at Sijun before:

Then after that he swindled a guy called John Liberto (known as Capt. Flushgarden here at Sijun, who is one hell of an artist, so it felt twice as bad). He asked John to do a logo for frostedflame.com and never paid him for doing it if I remember correctly.
After that incident he ripped off Mr. T Darth Maul painting, he had changed his account to Corn Pops at that time.

Here's some proof to back up the claims:

Mongoose had address called www.cperry.com

Frosted Flame has address called www.frostedflame.com It's registered to
Chris Perry.

Pixelsoldier has address called www.erbin.com It's also registered to Chris Perry.

Pixelsoldier, when I was reading your latest posts I had an instant Deja vu, I did whois for you domain and you're the same guy, I really hope you would be more polite to people this time, they won't be assholes to you if you're not asshole to them.
I still have some hope for you, you've made some good posts before and if the image above really is yours I think you're a quite good artist too! Just leave the crap out and people will respect you.

I hate people who change nicks. Much better to have one and stick to it forever.
For example i sometimes find people through games that i played with in Quake years ago!

But for Mongoose it's understandable to change nicks like gloves..

He also used to post as HumanClay for some time, and scanned in images drawn by a designer guy named Todd Murrison (he has a marker rendering book, which I assume Mongoose/HC bought). He did this even for the cube drawing thread started by fred/spooge. That's pathetic..forging practice stuff heh. Anyway, yes, he has been here under many, many names. I didn't think he was also under pixelsoldier..wow.

Aight, it's about time I addressed all of this like a man.

First off, I did not rip off John/Captainflush WHATSOEVER, so I dunno where you got that idea. I'm sure John can speak for himself. I did ask him to paint a logo in exchange for me hosting some of his work. He drew the logo (which was never used) but then decided he didn't want his page put up. Ask him yourselves.

As for Mr. T, I painted over his picture of Darth Maul with drastically different colours. I painted over his signature, and everyone flipped out. It isn't like I was claiming his art as my own.

When I went by the alias Mongoose, I was an idiot. I still am an idiot, probably. That was OVER three years ago. Same thing with HumanClay (within a few months of each other). Yes, under those two aliases I claimed work to be my own that was not. But again, this was quite some time ago. I'm not saying it was right, obviously, but I think I've grown up quite a bit since then.. or maybe not, you can decide for yourselves.

If you did paintover shit, then people will catch you. If you admit it to it, then, fine. Paint some of your own things and let them stand for itself. Prove that you can do more than paint by the numbers.

Now is the right time to erase all that BS from your record.
Keep your pixelsoldier login and if you feel like it, paint something, render an image - whatever - and we'll do out best to give you crits and help you along.
(I think I even suggested that back in 2000 and got something like "Fuck you ...")
I'm sure you've got the desire to do art (otherwise you wouldn't stick around here and have done the things you did) - so go for it!
It's good to hear you say those things - just prove to us you've really grown up (saying it is not enough)

That would also make you the first ... um ... person on sijun that got found out and didn't leave in a cloud of cusswords, but stuck around and gained respect from the people around here ...

Yea, my pixelsoldier account isn't working (conveniantly). Maybe all the hatred directed toward it caused it to obliterate. I thought I made it clear in my post above that I am attempting to end the witch-hunt.

However, there are things people accuse me of that aren't true, and I'm not gonna own up to those as well.

Like I said, I was an idiot when I was mongoose/Humanclay way back in like 1998 or whatever.

I don't paintover/rip whatever at all anymore, and haven't for YEARS. In fact, I make it quite public that I fuckin' suck with my tablet. I can draw/paint traditionally, but not so well digitally yet, though I am learning. I've been employed with Blast Radius as a designer up until a few weeks ago when I lost my job. :P

Anyway, I'm older now and have changed since my Mongoose days. Most won't believe me, which I expect. I suppose I don't deserve to be believed.

Thanks. I've been trying to do that all along as pixelsoldier (help/get help/be an ass at times)

I just ordered a new Intuos2 9x12, and should have it by Monday. You can be damn sure that I'll be postin tons of stuff as soon as I get it. Right now I'm tinkering with a tiny little Graphire2 that is driving me up the wall.

Oh, and I did draw the pic BG posted above (he coloured it, obviously).

I am trying desperately here to get people to understand that when I did all that stupid shit I wasn't taking any of this seriously. Since then, I've made it my career, and like to think that I've matured a fair bit. But again, it was an asshole thing to do, and I'm sorry I did it.

I don't think we should flame Pixelsoldier for what he's done in the past. I was aware that he was Mongoose, but i didn't do anything because he didn't do anything wrong since. Pixelsoldiers is a VERY nice guy, he encoraged/helped ALOT of people and i agree with many of his C&Cs. I also noticed that he actually did post his own arts from a while ago, I hope thats enough proof to forgive what he had done.

Hey - thanks Bang, I appreciate it very much. I try to help as much possible. I've studied art for... 8 years now, I guess. It is truly my only passion. I just suck painting digitally. As I mentioned earlier, I've made a career as a designer with Blast Radius, but digital painting has be stumped bigtime. Actually, Bang has been one of my biggest inspirations to keep practicing. Have you guys noticed how much he's improved? I find it incredible. Others too.

I can't do much else but let my work speak for itself. I guess that is all any artist can do. So, if you cant find truth in what I'm saying, hopefully you'll find it in my work.

And Shizo, I lubb you too.

I've never had anything but good experiences with Pixelsoldier. I tend to shy away from conflict, espicially that of the online nature because in reality it leads to nothing so I never had any experience with Pixel's previous identities. Everyone needs to calm down, just enjoy life.

I talked to Pixelsoldier over ICQ when he was still Frosted Flame and he was nothing but very nice , polite and helpfull.

Ripping somebody off is a bad, very bad thing and even though it isn�t YEARS since he last time did such shit, I think he should get a chance to show he changed. I think people can change alot over time. Me at least would be happy if he would add me on his ICQ list again
