Could someone on this forum please tell me where to go? I am an Apple Keynote/Aperture user who desires to create multi image illustrations using a grid in which individual smaller scaned photos are deposited into cells like picture frames - sort of like a school yearbook layout. I have experimented with Master Slides and Tables within Keynote to create these grids but find that they have limitations.
My desire is to have a variety of these grids stored and available for use again and again. I am guessing that some software manufacturer makes a variety of template type grids - like the type graphic artists must use - that can be employed within the Apple system. If these do exist it would make my job a lot simpler.
So my question is: If this type of software does exist, can someone identify a few examples I might try that would be compatible with the Apple system?
Thanks for your time and I would appreciate any thoughts you might have.

|

Well, I don't know what your background is, but if you're willing to put some study into it, I think Quartz composer should do the trick. It's a kind of node-based visual compositor/ coding tool, and it's free for OS X, being part of Apple's XCode tools:

I think it should be relatively simple to do what you want to do with it, but depending on your background the learning curve may or may not be too much to be worth it. |
