Woke up this morning and to my delight found that my order for this graphic novel had arrived. I can't read a word of Japanese (doh!) but I couldn't wait for the translated version. Opened the front/back cover and was immediately impressed by the quality of Masamune-san's digital work in comparison to Intron Depot 2 which was a bit of a letdown in my opinion. I didn't notice the mix of 2d and 3d work straight away, it seems to be something that he's worked on quite alot.
Does anyone else have this novel?
What do you think?

I saw ghost in a shell, and I thought it sucked ass, but thats just my opinion. I have not read any comics or graphic novels, which may not suck.

The animated versions and the comics are almost NEVER the same. Do not judge one based on the other.

GITS2 is a leap in his artistic ability, however, the man needs to get some sex in the worst way. When his depraved sexual thoughts filters through EVERYTHING he does, it become a bit cheap. I have no problem with T&A, but Shirow needs to get some before all his work turns into smut.

I don't see why he can't just release smut seperately from his serious work.

Anyway, he changed my life with Appleseed, so I respect the man for that.

I agree with Lunatique - is it really necessary to have 27 panty shots in a row? Followed by a big sweaty three way with different appliances?

I love Shirow, but yeah please get some and THEN draw the comics...

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. But sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do.

Those panty shots were all too often and it did kind of ruin what is a great looking novel to a degree. It was there in his earlier works but it was always subtle and there for a reason but never quite as in your face as it is GitS 2.
I've always liked Dominion Tank Police, it always raises a smile.

vigilo: I've never heard of it, the only info I could find was on a french site but my french isn't that hot.
