Munin, yea I know I was just joking, but; however seriously it is better to paint textures. Everything that you add to a canvas can instead of being added with quick tricks rather be painted and simplified.
Better not get too comfortable with adding textures.
I like your stuff btw.
Seems I need to think around the frame of things, think I should do several of the same. Explore all ideas.

thankyou fellas- i really like that last one fripp, you compose in a unique way
i like that matte wallin!
looked back on 2007 on gurney journey and was reading a post about "invite and delight" which was basically to present a readable comp and story (the invite) and then have more subtle layers of meaning,detail, story elements within (the delight)- struck me as very similar to when Jaime was talking about resolving the drawing whilst striving for variety within the image.... so I've basically been trying to make things read and then fantasize about all the endless layers of less important stuff happening- and painting in the mind, cause its even less time consuming than with digital, you can speedpaint real crazy in your head but then just carefully copy copy the process onto the canvas-why what and how all in one go!
heres a crappy sketch- i feel the mood is right but the gesture is all screwed! im sorry conan!
