A thread in the Finished Gallery, where I finally spoke up about some board activities I find extremely frustrating, has been Deleted. Not closed, not moved, but it simply vanished. I am astonished. Is there someone here, a moderator perhaps, that can explain it to me?

First of all, fuck off. Who the hell do you think you are? I'm so sick of your 'knight in shining armour' routine (ceenda said this). You think you're some high-and-mighty saviour of the newbies. I replied in the thread with one word: "paintover" and you almost shit your pants. You act like a little baby.

You say that you're concerned with the little 13 year-olds visiting might be given bad first impressions, but you PROMOTE FLAT'S ART THAT IS FULL OF PENIS' AND SWEARING. How the hell can THAT be considered appropriate for the same little children you're so concerned with?

Take your band of newbies and idiots and YOU leave. If you haven't noticed, you piss a lot more people off than you help. And it seems that the majority of people here (minus the ones you fondle with your compliments) do NOT agree with what you say.

Flat is messed up. People realize this, and it annoys them. Somehow you think he is some blossoming talent who needs his ego stroked and protected. Get a fucking clue, man.

Every time I say something even slightly negative in a thread I expect Sir Torstein to come valiantly galloping in to save the day from the evil pixelsoldier. Stop crying, you little baby.

Yeah, that was indeed the topic, though my intentions with this thread here really is to understand why the thread was deleted. Anyway, you of course should have your reply.

First: I'm not trying to save all newbies from bad criticism, nor am I saying that every veteran here is a crook. I am making another point, and I hope I can make that clear to you.

Second: I've already apologized to Ceenda by e-mail, because in the heat I suspect I didn't treat him right. As we say in norway, I might well have "combed everybody with the same comb" (that probably didn't make sense).

My point is more like this: You guys are superior to the newbies posting. You have routine. You know how the game is played. Some weener will always try to impress you by cheating (for instance because he can't yet properly deal with being "unskilled", inferiority complex ahoy) Show some compassion, "dude". He's awed, and does something wrong. Tell him what's right, but don't forget the respect for his situation. He loves you

Also, please, understand that if the old, established artists do make harsh remarks, then there will be teenagers who flock to them, extrapolating their attitudes. See? With fame/status/skill comes a responsibility.

If Roundeye says "Hell, that's a paintover if ever I saw one", then some 13-year-old will post next:

"I HATE FUCKING PAINTOVERS MAN, I'M WITH ROUNDEYE, YOU SHOULD JUST EAT SHIT AND DIE MAN, 'CAUSE LIKE, YOU DON'T BELONG HERE DUDE!!!"

Then, the next 13-year-old will write (feeling that he has to show the same attitude):
"YEAH! HELL, WHAT A PAHtETIC LOSER MAN: HAHAHAHA"

So Roundeye's initial comment might not have been extremely harsh. But by his status he sets an example. The comments often follow in the same manner, and the situation is blown up. If he is calmer about the situation, the others will be too.

If you can't deal with that kind of responsibility, or you just don't see it happening, then please, YOU shut the fuck up.

Its funny how you didn't touch on the ONE point I actually did make in my post.

How can you possible defend FLAT, when you're so concerned with how the younger members perceive this place? You can't. You're wrong. Don't even try. :P

So you think we should show compassion towards people that steal/rip/trace artwork? That sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm surprised every civilization on the planet hasn't started rewarded thieves. I'm sure that'd make the world a happier place! No matter how long they've been here, they should have instilled in them the differences between right and wrong. Sijun isn't where they should come to learn the lessons of life. If you feel it should be, you're a sad little man.

I'm not mean to most people, man. You seem to paint me that way, but I'm not. I'm only mean to people that post pornographic cartoons, rip off other artists, or are just generally immature and annoying. Like I've said to you before, READ MY POSTS. Don't just single out the ones that you see as negative and use that to paint me as some evil monster. You'll see that 90% of what I type in regards to someone's work is overly positive.

Sijun has been here for years. It has evolved and devolved lots of times. You've been here for a short while, and you somehow think it is your responsibility to take the forums under your wing and stroke them gently back to health. Don't be so naive. If you think somebody's posts are getting out of hand, tell the moderators, and if you have any 'case' at all, then something will be done about it. If not, then suck it up and realize that your opinion isnt exactly shared by everyone on the forum.

Dude, I've said many times that I realize I'm an asshole to some people. It is on purpose. I'd like to believe (LIKE to) that I'm not inherently a jackass. Some people (like Flat, for example) get under my skin. It isn't that I haven't given him a second chance. He's had like 3945898943 chances, but he never changes and I find it incredibly childish. Even MORE childish than the replies I spew into his threads. We've all tried being sincere with him, and it doesn't work. The only emotion left is frustration.

I do agree with you in that it would be more productive to just ignore him. I will do that from now on.

When I said "get over yourself" it had nothing to do with your physical appearance. Obviously I have never met you. By "get over yourself", I was referring to the condescending manner you were talking to me... like I was some kinda of evil, little peon.

In conclusion, you're quite right in that I should practice the "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" rule more often, and I will.
