Some nice work this past week.

This image started out as a simple sphere in the mist. As I continued to work on it, my results kept deviating from my original idea. Finally, I let go of my original idea and finished the piece the way it needed to be finished. But I still dug the original vision, so I went back to square one and finished this quick speed painting, which captures what I wanted originally.

space-sprayer, appreciate the words, we'll see what I can make of it but yea interesting for me too. Abstract can put you in a comfort zone which can be hard to brake. Usually I look for what is most important for a picture and not the outcome of that; that it has to look like something.

thanks again. Smile

thanks guys!
Tzan-hahaha, i feel so honored to have provided an avatar for the 3000+ post guy-lego wargaming looks pretty awesome, I'm gonna have to check that out.

sampson-ah I getcha, like that chapel.

soulburn, i like that, its very simple and has nice mood.

w@sker!!!

Rinthe- i really like the life studies you're doing, best way to learn! As far as simplification goes, it helps to analyze the scene and ask yourself what the easiest things to paint in the scene are-usually stand out edges- if you paint the easy stuff first it gives you a solid, simple view of what you are shooting for early on, and clarifies all those subtle things.

I tried to do a mirror portrait- i need to play with faces more, theres always that notion that youll screw up and the face looks strange because our heads are wired for facial recognition-i need to get over that so i can analyze without the social wonkyness getting in the way
