w@sker, that's awesome !

samson, david, araval, well everyone on the page actually very nice !

fripp I'm really digging how your style is developping, I think the previous ones with the "broken" perspective was kinda disturbing for my mind, this one works way better, but maybe I'm too cartesian Smile

quickie

Thanks Sparth!.....and cool post. Your artwork always fires my imagination and transports me across the galaxy. I find myself piloting your spacecrafts and exploring those alien vistas. Not many artists can do that.

Samsonsreaper,....Shocked

W@sker -- Amazing studies.

EAD - Very nice. Love that color palette!

udal - Beautiful Levitan study. Love those little paint cracks you have added. Nice touch.

Perhaps I shouldn't say anything, but; if I were you guys I would be careful with too much of copying old artists.
Sure you will learn tecniques and all but do you really in the end wanna paint a wave exactly as your favourite artist?
Once I was down the same road... what the hell do I know any way?

interesting discussions here lately, lots of fun to follow.

matthew, i understand what you're saying, copying a specific style
too much will probably make your brain do things in a certain way.. i think
to avoid this one should study artists from different art
movements, cave paintings to modern art, they all have something to
contribute with.. in different ways.

i need to start painting digitally again.. mostly been watercolorin' lately

Matthew, I think copying old masters at least are useful to learn patience. Working hard to get the tone and the detail. I'm not sure anyone copying for example velazquez three or four times becomes a clone himself, is impossible. I suppose you have to copy him during 40 years to start to paint like him from memory XD

Toast, thanks. I think linear perspectve sometimes is a bit limited, or I dont' know how to put lot of information on a classic perspective

Not speedy, but quickly detailed

Why do people pose in front of the camera?
Is it so that the memory will get better with time? Or is it only acting so that it looked like a good memory at the time?
If so, really worth saving?
