Awesome work here!

I've been doing some pencil sketches lately, I like the improved control compared to Wacom - though end result with Wacom usually turns out far superior because you have infinite undo at your disposal Wink

Here's Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner:

octavian> that one's real nice, but to me it seems that the huge ship shouldn't be as blurried out as it is. That it should be one of the clearest parts of the image. Just because it takes up half the canvas Smile. But I love it otherwise!

Wow. So much awesome stuff. Too many to name. Ha.

Paoo and Lingy> Really digging ur piece. Loving it.
ZUPZUP> Nice brush stroke and feeling you have there. Really like your work. The mountian scene you posted on the previous page is really nice. Are you using Artrage? Just curious. Razz
eWKn> Nice. Love the design of the ship too.
octavian> Looking good.
helltaxi> Interesting design you have going there.

Matthew > Thanks for the comment on the last few pages. To tell you the truth, i din notice variation of brush stroke can created depth until you mention it. Will try it and push it even more. I'm still lacking in alot of area and am still trying to play catch up so do feel free to drop a comment or anything. Smile Cheers.

Naeem, yeah I totally think you're right. I took some blur out..... but It's a speed sketch (on a plate obviously), and I plan on using it as a base to paint up a better one. I'll totally use your advice when (if) I repaint it... so Thanks dude! How is school btw? or are you back in Jersey yet?

Zup ZUp: NP, I like your brush work. I just looked over your blog, where have you been all my life Shocked absolutely amazing works. And I'm jealous that you get to "hop in a boat" to go paint such a majestic setting in your backyard.

thanks ray, lookin cool yourself Smile

another one that could use more work, but this is all about speed right? it's a shame I didn't design these ships better.

octavian - Thanks. I'm just trying not to repeat myself Smile.

This is how I always imagined the space station interior when reading my favourite sci-fi book "Solaris". Totally different mood than in Soderbergh movie although there was also blue sun in next chapters which could give similar cold palette. About 3,5 hours.

shit guys, lovely work- this last page is very exciting in a strange way.

dunno what is going on in my brain on this one- it goes from trying to make interesting form/value relations to "LEts paint a sabertooth tiger!!", then my sister says its a polar bear- back to the drawing board!

is there anything you guys do to get you in the "mood" for painting? I understand that high mental effort+minimal physical effort (arbitrary blobbing/stroking) is nice (I always ruin my works with brainless paintlashing when i get mentally tired).

I've also been trying to think less of "paintstrokes" and more about the subject and its form/light qualities that the strokes represent, seems to help, but id like to discuss something on here (even if I dunno what that is yet)

Insane Lemur, I can totaly relate to what you say, but actually what helps me to concentrate is to go the the gym.. Im training several times a week and it really helps me keep my focus on painting as well. You should try it
