So this is a mix of a Macat mech with exo-squad arms. 1.5 week project for school.

What are these neonstripes for? Teamcolor? Don't think they look cool, especially not on the front of the cokpit.

I think it's much better. Looks like some old schooled mech. Round, bouncy, bubbly =)

Am a battletech and mechwarrior games fan, so this is hittin some nerves =)

Thanks for the feedback, I still need to push the textures and normals to really make it pop. I agree it did look like crap with all the bluish neon. Its not that good but I gotta move on to the next project.

I'm a mechwarrior fan as well, I almost thought of modeling a stone Rhino. =D

Some Nice modelling there!

Should try rendering it in Vray or something similar,

Keep up the good work.

I'm liking the improved texture work, but I'm not quite sold on the way this is put together, and I think it's the way that the movable parts interlock (or really, there is a lack of apparent realistic interlocking).

I think this is part of why figure drawing is pushed on basically everyone who wants anything to do with art. Check out some bridgeman, or really the tutorial by geist 80% of the way down this page http://tsofa.com/viewtopic.php?t=425. Google image robotic arms and check out the way things fit together. Also, varying proportion in ways relative to an exaggerated human figure (then check out some chicken legs) will always sell a robot.

You know what always fascinated me is what I heard about how ILM put the starwars models together back in the seventies. They, basically got a whole bunch of different, random model building kits, threw it all down on the table, and just started craming things together, focusing on shape, and proportion, then they carved the pieces together into some awesome designs (and a few shitty ones, but hey...) You might want to try something similar in your future digital work.

Just my 2 cents, you're a better modeler than I am.

Very nice feedback and I completely agree with you. I have been so focused on modeling and texturing I have lost my foundations to certain extent. I need to begin drawing more. Those tutorials are very good and I will study them.

Thank you.
