Hi, would like all critiques i can get on this one. Im stuck and are just wasting time doodling around on it. Now i need to fix the depth in it more and get it a level more realistic. Advices?

I like it but I think the primary issue is the light doesn't really make sense as it is so inconsistent.
Compare the foreground guy with the buildings in the centre of the picture. Another example is the vehicle the guy is standing on in the background is casting an almost black shadow yet is very well lit. |

As ianucci says, your lighting composition doesn't read well. Seems to be light coming from everywhere, which puts most of the image in the same "middle values" range.
You have a similar problem with the monochrome nature of the image; because everything is essentially the same color, there's no color composition. Monochrome imagery can work, as any good black and white photographer will show, but when you're not using color you really need to push the value range -- dark darks and light lights -- and build a composition around the shapes created by those darks and lights. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |
