Greetings,

I've been a lurker of these forums for a while, unforunately I don't have the time to focus properly on concept art, though it is a passion of mine. Maybe in the future I'll become more involved in this wonderful community.

I am posting here in hope of making some contacts within the community with a view to bringing a few talented artists onboard with the Exodus project. We are looking for artists to produce a range of conceptual pieces, for both PR use and internal purposes (3d modeling references and so forth). This will include environments, weaponry, characters and everything in-between.

So what's the project about? Simply put; Exodus a low-fantasy/medieval themed single-player modification for Crysis.

Our website is currently undergoing a re-design - http://www.exodus-mod.com/. Below is a little preview screenshot of the site, being developed by myself.

A bit more info;

With a fully fledged SDK and a robust, flexbile framework to build on our team have chosen CryEngine2 to realise our collective vision of both a gripping and exicting single player adventure game and in the future (we hope) a multiplayer co-operative RPG.

The project started around the time of Crysis' release, saw a surge in activity (as many mods do upon a game's release) and has since slowed down and publically "frozen". However, behind the scenes is a core team of around 5 people working hard towards a public re-launch, scheduled for March '09. At the present time we work together on a daily basis on filling the gaps in the design documentation and producing all manner of content for the project.

If you like producing fantasy or medieval art and would like to be part of a really exciting project and a great group of amateur developers, then please do give me a shout on MSN/AIM, or via e-mail. My full contact details can be found in my profile.

Thanks for reading!

Exclusive sneak-peak media;

what would the work progress look like doing a concept for you? would it be based on a 3d render and then you make something out of it?
just curious...

Any artists involved will be given a fair amount of freedom and an open brief for their work. References will often be provided and the aims for each piece of work discussed.

Currently we require someone to produce landscape and environment paintings, of the speedy-ish variety. Full detailed promotional work will come later down the line but first and foremost we're focusing on environmental work for use on our new website.

Sounds like fun. I might try to do one piece if you let me....
Not sure I have a lot of time but I think I could make something out in a week on my sparetime. Let me know what you think.

sometimes: My apologies, I'm pretty busy with work unrelated to this project currently, I will have time to contact you and discuss things over the weekend, likely tomorrow.

Are you still looking for environment concept artists? I could possibly get some paintings done for you, although I can't promise that they will be of great quality. Smile
