Heya all,
I was just wondering, what is your favorite band of all-time? I realize that most people go through many different phases of musical preference, but some bands just stick with you throughout. For example, I've been heavily into everything from alternative to hip-hop/reggae.
But my favorite band of all-time is without a doubt, Pearl Jam. With Creed as a close second. |

That's hard...I've liked so many bands. One I got a couple years ago and still listen to though is Fastball. Creed, Meatloaf and Great Big Sea are close behind, though. Hey, pixelsoldier, we've got something in common! |

I find it hard to chose favorites, especially for bands.. I just go by if I like individual songs or not and even then my taste is so ecleptic I can't choose a favorite. |

Hmm, all-time favorite band is very hard to say...
Maybe Blind Guardian, maybe Manowar, not sure...
However, favorite individual musical artist, no problem: Peter Gabriel. |

I don't listen to many "bands" in the strict sense of the word . . . probably my favorite true band would've been George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic. In terms of collectives, you really can't beat UR. |

yeah I'd have to say tool my favorite band too...Allthough I diddn't really start listening to any music other than classical untill highschool. First it was metallica...then I realized they suck compared to tool in my opinion...I dunno...downloaded lots of other industrial music, techno, and classic rock...but I can't really relate to any of it at all for some reason...
Tool's good not just because you hear this "ooooh that sounds so complex and different, I wanna join the tool-liking group!" sort of thing. I like tool because of the intensity of the feeling in some of the songs, the references to jungian psychology, the almost perverse anxiety and mystery of some of the songs (mainly in undertow and aenima) and just the theme of being completely immersed in the music and feeling the energy and intensity that it's communicating... |
