Very bad? Good lord you are hard on yourself.. you have obviously done some homework on the human form,. I think this is a wonderful start for this piece. can't wait to see you finish the face and the background. I love the way you shaded and lit the piece!

the second is my favorite. your palette is kind of muddy, you need to stop using blacks and maybe push abit more saturation into the image. I like the leg and boot, they're rendered abit better than the other parts of the body, maybe use different brush strokes, vary it up abit you have the same touch on everything at the moment.

looking good man, keep it up.
