watmough, you're on fire man!

Samson-I like the first ones warmth, the second makes me feel cold brrrr!

Hideyoshi- I like the rendering of the first jet better- both designs are cool in an experimental way that it would be sighted and the airforce would say "You saw a weather balloon, move along."

I like your random future soldier neff- it was inevitable I would have a similar idea this evening

a crappy study, I think I started off trying to swallow to much, the ability to break things down and simplify is an important talent that I don't yet possess

Not at all, Rinthe - that piece has a great look to it. I wish I could keep my brushwork loose like this.

Thanks for the info watmough- I think a problem I sometimes get is instead of finding the midtone of a plane or object surface, I instead stick to the starting midtone of the entire picture and never truly "classify" the values. Also I realize painting from life with a computer screen can be tough cause the brightness levels trick the eye to some degree, now I'm holding the screen up beside the scene to make sure!

Thanks nova!

AjTron- very nice value transitions for each plane, very inspiring!

another study-

I hate http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/3039/19630665up0.jpg. The white boxes of death. The worst part is that the image was only 700x250 pixels and I have 1GB of RAM and a dual 3GHz processor.
