I looooove tina_halter-top_16.jpg!! The contrast is stunning, and I love her jawline. Strong, yet very soft and feminine.

Yep, it's that time again. You know the drill.

The rest of the session is on the site.

I wish you had done all of them in color. The color one is just so vibrant.

Do you ever do anything else than this kind of pictures? Your pictures all seem very alike. Maybe thats just me (I am not a man for endlessly trying to perfect the last details)but I think it would be interesting to do something else. Maybe a different subject or different surroundings you know...Just something new.

Thanks dudes and dudettes.

edraket- Actually, feminine beauty IS my favorite subject. I would love to shoot some other stuff too(children, animals, narrative style..etc), but since I've got a real beauty right here, I would rather shoot her than anything else.

I have other stuff on my site too. Have you looked at the entire photography section?

A lot of the them were shot in color. I turned them into B/W because they seemed to work better for those shots.

Hey

If you like the female beauty as your subject who am I to tell you to do otherwise?

I guess what I was mainly trying to say is that you could experiment more with subject matter. Especially with the surroundings. Have something in the background and all of a sudden you are telling a story.
Here.. I took a picture from your site to show what I mean.

You see..her face..the background..the lighting. You get the feeling there is something going on.
You could use this to tell your own thing.
You say you want to portray female beauty. Why not have your gf pose with this ugly piece of rusted machinery in the background? The contrast will make her beauty stronger.
You have been posting ugly stories of the regime over there. Why not use your gf as a symbol of the slow reformation of china. (Which in my eyes she definately is)
Even if there is no premeditated meaning it's always nice to look at a picture and have the feeling that you are witnessing something.
Anyways..thats just my take of course and I probably have a completely different view on things. Don't let me stop you from doing what you think is best, most fun.. whatever.

edkaret- I see what you mean. Yeah, I love shooting/painting scenes with emotional/intellectual content too. I think a lot of the Tina sessions are not really "Ooh, I'm going to do a serious photo-shoot today!" type of thing. They are usually more of a "A couple in love goofing off with a camera" type of thing. Not serious at all. It seems I'm more serious when I shoot other people.

I was going to shoot her in the middle of a destroyed house last year, but we had to be on schedule that day, so it didn't happen. I was thinking the same thing you were: A modern girl in the middle of a developing country.

Did you look at the Maggie session? Some of those shots were inside a very old, beat up house. Kind of that "modern girl in an old world" thing too.

Now that I think about it, I DID do quite a bit of different stuff. There's the Killing of Thy Beloved session, the Blood session, the Scary session, the Mystical session, the Tina&Helen session, the James&LEsley session..etc.

Coaster- Tina can cook better than most restaurant chiefs. And she gives a killer massage.

Luna..
yeah..I get you. I checked out the maggie shots and they are real nice.
My comments were more about your recent shoots. And well that makes sense then. The whole couple in love thing. Not bad. And you can see that in the pictures too you know. There is this kind sad feeling of suspense. The couple in love in a motel room afraid of whats going to happen to them when they step out and have to pick up life again.

About getting married..hehehe Don't let yourself get pressured into it. You need to share common goals for the future or at least see a way of combining them.
Being married doesn't need to mean being old and having a house, a car and two kids.
It can also mean a pact to be poor for a few decades but have loads of fun. (Like in my case) or to become assassin ninja's and kill all the world leaders (like in your case)
Or hey you could help Tina out in her make-up stores. You like to paint..ever considered a career as a makeup artist?

Ok...sorry

Coaster- what the-- I thought you are 13? How is that possible?

edraket- I'm a ninja assassin now? Wow! Cool beans!

Nah, I don't want to spend my days making ugly women look halfway decent. It's all a lie.

Well, the marriage thing IS daunting, because I never thought I'd get married this young(if 29 could be considered young). I feel like a big kid trying to do adult things...

zak- no prolem, just make sure you make it clear what the source was.

29?? I was 21 man! But I guess I'm just a weirdo. I had never had another gf either. Somehow I had always known who I was waiting for and when I found her there wasn't even a doubt that we would not get married. I guess thats strange. But for us it seemed like the most natural thing in the world.

Hehe ahwell.. I just realised I am rapidly sailing away from the topic.

You don't even have to get married in the traditional sense...one of my mother's friends had this big ceremony where she and her boyfriend person got "spiritually commited" to eachother...just like a normal wedding but based more on trust without any of the papers that you have to fill out or all the religious hubub ...Of course they were hippi-ish, organic food eating people...but hey, this is northwest washington so...yeah!?

Nice photos BTW

(edit)oops
