I'm all for sticking to the deadlines, but I'm not sure that you get the desired effect by that little preach when you missed the deadline yourself sweetums.. Smile

Hey, a death in the family, with an out of state journey will do that to you...

I PMd Med that I was going to miss the deadline, and told him to go ahead and throw me to the bottom of the competition list, only to find out I wasn't the only one.

I was more than willing to take a hit for the team, y'all. Now that I know it's a group thing, ha! You're on your own, I'm back on track for my coup...

Others might have legitimate excuses as well. Sorry about your loss.

Thank you, Cicinimo.
But I agree. No excuses.

I'm not in this to win ...well, hell, of course I am, but I'm realistic enough to recognize that short of ninja assassins getting to everyone else but me, my chances are a wee bit slim...

I'm in this for the sheer fun of being a part of a "Special Group." Nope, not any and every member can play in this one. Only those who signed up. And I got to be one of you! Of US! YAYAYAYAYYYY!

I know I won't end up dead last, because out of 30 of us, someone has got to quit. Always happens in any and every group. And you never know...Maybe the skills fairy will visit me between rounds, and I'll draw better than Spooge! Not holding my breath...

The results Smile

These works are really impressive even with such a narrow theme :]

I'd like to apologize for all the complications and delays, and I hope I haven't upset anyone. Anyway, enjoy! Smile

The first section are those who win automatically due to their opponents' absences.

Pao

Andree Wallin

Rolando

There is a slight twist to the next part, the names of the artists will be hidden. The pictures will have numbers instead Very Happy

Oh YEAH!
Some SWEETNESS for our eyes!

GREAT WORK, EVERYONE WHO ENTERED!
If you dropped out this Round, that's okay, it was great having you in the last one, and I know I'm not the only member happy to have competed with you.
If you're still here YOU DESERVE THANKS. Thanks for taking the time (Life DOES get in the way, as we all know...) and making the effort to enter something. Commitments are HARD to meet and stick to. Even small ones like this. Your commitment and efforts to play Sinjun Tiles 2008 are greatly appreciatied.

BUT, our perserverence has now started to pay off.
From 30 entrants, with 2 rounds for the first eliminations (which would have been only 10 people) we are now down to 18 competitors, with 3 people getting a fully buy, and most of the rest of us only competing against one person, rather than two...That alone has increased your chances by a third of winning this Round!

At the end of this round, we will have cut the group to 10 people, instead of the projected 20. This means the timeline will probably likewise be moved up, we can crown this year's Champion of the Sijun Universe before the November elections. Just consider your votes "warm up" for the big election, okay?

SO, let's get those votes in, people! The sooner Med can announce the winners, the sooner we can start the next round! Again, great work, folks!

Hey, you got your entry in. Late, but still in.
Good job, thank you.

THAT"S what makes this fun to be part of it. All of us trying to think of something, trying to find time to actually draw it, and then get it submitted.
It's been an honor for me getting to say I posted art with you all!

I like it better without the names, just to try to guess who's who by style, also, some of us lesser talented folk have less chance of losing votes to the "celebrities" among us for sheer name value...as if the sheer skill of the artwork weren't enough...Wink

Even if we lost the first round? You mean there is still hope for me? OH BOY!!! (Does a happy dance...)

DON'T FORGET - You Don't VOTE, you lose the Round! (the ones who didnt' show can still vote, but they still lose this round...)

Not if I read your chart on page 3 of this thread correctly...

For Round 3, you show 5 out of 6 for every two groups of 3, with 6 people being eliminated... Which fits your original explanation that no one would be eliminated for the first two rounds...

If I'm reading that chart wrong, please clarify!

haha sorry paoo, I'll fix that soon

Sweetums, if you look at round 3, there are still 15 people in the winners and losers brackets, which is where people will be knocked out. I designed it specifically so people have at least two chances to keep going Wink

Oh GOOD!
Beyond the fact that I kant count 2 gud, it is reassuring that I will have at LEAST one more chance to yell, "don't bother me, I'm CREATING, and have a DEADLINE!"...Not that anyone listens or cares, but it makes me FEEL so "authentic" to actually have a reason for playing with Painter and Photoshop...
