Edit: I'm moving these posts to a new userID: AndreasWide, as my other name is already in use elsewhere. You know how it is with clients: Don't confuse them!

I was about to comment on the first, and then i noticed the second one. I think you fixed almost everything I was going to comment on. I love the trees that are close to the camera and broken apart. It really helps get rid of the "clean" areas on the first painting. The first one gives me this American pioneer feeling when I look at it, and I think it's because it is much cleaner and my eyes are very drawn towards the pines on the right.

If you're trying to add anything, my suggestion would be flames/flares/fires in the lefthand explosion. I think it could benefit from a small intense light source from the impact.

Also, perhaps add some char to the trees if they were shot down or broken apart by gunfire.

My last comment, and I might be completely wrong since I'm no military expert, is that most of the explosions look similar and vertical. If they are meant to all be vertical, I would add some small trails of shrapnel or earth flying in other directions from the impact. Might help break up the uniformity.

I love the faces, especially homey on the radio, they are very believable.

are you alowed to show box covers before their publication?

as for the comment ,well If I must done those covers I would do it way different,so much then I won't even comment. Taht ofcourse doesn't mean You did them wrong ,actually they look preety sweet. Only one thing need to be fixed in my opinion- is the attacking side - if not the title I would never guess they are finnish, maybe one desperated finnish soldier closer ,maybe even satbbing that soviet with a bayonet?

Thanks for the feedback!

Iceprism - good points, I will surely use some of your suggestions in my next update. The explosions are artillery from the russian side hitting water from a rather steep angle - hence the vertical pillar of water. But as you pointed out, some more randomness would help.

As for the homey on the radio - thats me! Smile

Morano - to answer your first question: Yes. This is a small project being developed by a friend of mine, and he has agreed to take advice from other artists in forums like these.

I agree that it's important to show one of the finnish soldier upclose and attacking. Thanks!

note: I looked up your site: great stuff!
