hello all I am noobie to graphics art. I would like to learn how to make wallpapers and do general work like make websites, make flyers and render in 2d and 3d. I am a decent artist not great but I am willing to work on it.
I do not have photoshop only gimp and inscape and an old cop of painter.
can some lead me to tutorials website or books that may help me?
I am hoping to do some work that will earn me enough money to buy photoshop. |

Also, how old a version of Painter? While 6 is a bit long in the tooth, 7&8 are pretty decent. I upgraded to 'X' last year, and there aren't really that many extra bells and whistles for my uses. _________________ Life is short. Expect nothing, enjoy everything.

I've been using Gimp ever since I switched over to Ubuntu and definitely would recommend it.. Takes a bit to get used to but it is a powerful little tool and you can't go wrong on the price.
For Webdesign I recommend anyone learn at least the basics of HTML as it will save you hours and hours of headache down the road when you can quickly open something in CUTE or notepad and make minor changes.
Blender is a good free 3D program to pick up. Places like 3d-palace.com have some tutorials I believe.. Your best bet would be to go to blender.org and find links to their vid. tutorials there. |
