You know what I miss seeing here? Visual storytellers.

One thing that made Spooge special was the fact he didn't just paint cool images--he told stories with his images. There were premises with characters in the middle of something, not just cliched armored futuristic soldiers in various scenes or some ultra wide-angle shot of some sci-fi/fantasy scenery. Sure, he did those too, but those were just a fraction of what he did.

I always felt that if you're going to spend the time working on an image for yourself, why not make them tell stories? One thing I see so rarely around here is good visual storytelling with real emotional weight or intruguing premise.

Yup, but this is not the place for Final renders, I see this place for speed art, fast sketches, exercices, that lead the artists to get better skills and do amazing pictures Wink and yes, post something dude! Wink

Thanks guys!

I think its pretty sweet Lakka. The first thing I noticed when I started to use it was that I was suffering severely from having no shortcuts. So one of the first things I did was to buy one of these.

Its been a dream since I connected my new 1337 fps mini keyboard and set up my usual workflow shortcuts on it. The only thing that Im a little bit dissapointed with is the reflection on the screen, so when youre outside then you really have to pick some heavely shaded ereas to sit in, but I guess its like that with all laptops. Were just going to have to wait a few years till OLED screens are a standard.

Why does visual storytelling have to be tightly rendered?

It's unlikely I'll be doing any artwork for a while. Like I said, I'm now concentrating on being a composer.

thanks guys!
alot of eye catching ones!

I need to make drawing a daily habit as sometimes I have problems realizing my ideas. Its hard to work loose and interesting because my eye wants that little bit of detail to catch on, and its tricky getting it to fit in in a good way.

Hi Mattyuk
I am not good at given help comments, and please tell me if I am going over the line here?
This methoed help me getting started, and I hope it will help you too.
it took me 15 min.

01. clear the head on a transparent layer.
02. make a gradient
03. Use Curves to darken the selected head on top of your gradient.
04. paint on top
