So I believe this is my first big debut post over on these parts...


A lil background info...

I did an interpretation on the fates or better known as the 'moirae' from greek mythos. A few excerpts from wikipedia:

-The Moirae were usually described as cold, remorseless and unfeeling, and depicted as old crones or hags. The independent spinster has inspired fear rather than matrimony.

- Moirae or Moerae (in Greek Μοῖραι ? the "apportioners", often called the The Fates), in Greek mythology, were the white-robed personifications of destiny (Roman equivalent: Parcae, euphemistically the "sparing ones", or Fata; also equivalent to the Germanic Norns). The Greek word moira (μοῖρα) literally means a part or portion, and by extension one's portion in life or destiny. They controlled the metaphorical thread of life of every mortal and immortal from birth to death (and beyond). Even the gods feared the Moirae.


My interpretation: Here I have reversed the mythos to make the fates somewhat alluring and beautiful but have incased much of their body in machines and attire to reflect the bondage of destiny that they inflict upon all mortal beings.

One of the biggest pieces to the re-design of the moirae in version was a play on the old concept seen in clash of the titans, and disney's hercules in where the fates shared their vision through a single eye. Here the moirae have machinery attached to their heads that allows only 1 of the 3 sisters to have sight at any given time.

Anyhow, onto the main image:



I have to admit this is not 100% satisfied in its current state as I do plan to spice it up some more in the future, but my deadline came and when its time, its time.

Very nice, the image really shows the human emotion being destroyed by the hags, I caught the feeling immediately.

Thanks for the comments guy, I had mulled over alot of things with this image and ironically have been going through some rough shit in my life so it had alot of almost ironic underlying meaning to it for myself.
