Yea, that Brazil vs. England game is gonna kick some ass (no pun intended). I actually am not a soccer fan, but I've hopped on the bandwagon along with everyone else in Canada for the final rounds.
Predictions:
Germany:2 USA:1
England:2 Brazil:3
Korea:2 Spain:1
Turkey:1 Senegal:0
VIVA CANADA! err.. |

Germany is gonna pounce them yanks, that's for sure.
I'm also betting on Brasil.
Korea is sure to beat Spain.
And Senegal is going to win the whole damn'd World Cup...
I never bet on the exact results though. |

England lost
Ronaldinho, what an idiot. What was he smiling at? or couldn't he help it with those oversized teeth....
Oh well, we may have lost, but making fun of the Brazilian team is some consolation |

GERMANY vs USA 1:0 - well, the US folks played it the hard way, tried everything, had some good chances. Whilst our boyz played a lot more defensively and overall worse than I expected. Whatever, the US are beaten, now it's time to rumble. Oh and regarding the game England vs Brazil, well, things looked so good for England at first... I thought the English would do it.
Let's see what comes next. |

Your predictions were pretty sharp, PixelSoldier, mah man! w000t!!
Basse: Turkey doubltessly did a good job. They proved themselves to be some badass mofos on da playing ground in the last matches but beating Brazil will be extremely hard for the turkish team like it will be for any other team left in the world cup. 'nuff said.
Spain vs Korea - damn, what a freaky match!

Now it's your team against my Korean team, Flat. I don't really mind if we lose though. We've gotten pretty far anyway so it's good enough

i think the final will be Brazil vs Korea, because FIFA whant it that way...its all a matter of referees, and FIFA can make then work just right (you can see it by Korea vs Italy and vs Spain). |

Fellipe> No offense man, but that's just bs. Korea is a very good team today. You can see how Hiddink has shaped the Korean team to play Dutch football. They are so offensive, one touch, attacking defenders, playing in triangles, so...no that's just not true.
I guess you suspect a FIFA conspiracy against Portugal eh? And oh yeah, Fifa never liked France? Argentina? Come on man. You're hitting my weak point here
I believe we'll see Germany and Brazil in the final, but I will support Korea for sure.

One has to admit though: the treatment of Italy wasn't quite allright. |

I've got to say that Spain & Italy were robbed in their matches against S. Korea. Italy got about 8 yellow cards in the second half, most of which weren't deserved. That really seemed to kill their aggressiveness on defense. That play where Totti received a red card for flopping in the box was ridiculous. It should have been a penalty kick for Italy; instead Totti gets thrown off the field. Pretty stupid stuff.
The Spain game was even worse, I thought. Spain outplayed S. Korea the entire 90 minutes and they should have been up 2-0. They had two good goals disallowed on phantom offsides and out-of-bounds calls.
I don't think there's any conspiracy going on, but that's some crappy officiating. S. Korea is a good team, but I didn't think they played well enough to win either game.

Ugh... those conspiracies are driving me crazy... I can't believe those referees. ...well if Korea does come head to head with Brazilians, I don't think any bad refereeing is going to stop them from winning

Er..but since when was football about who's the best team before the match has ben played? Isn't the surprise half the game?
el scoono> No, Totti did not "deserve" the penalty. He deserves an academy award. Also, he did not get a red, he got a yellow card in that situation. (Him being sent off was the result of one yellow card recieved earlier). It's a difference between a yellow and a red y'know.
The 2-0 is bs too, the ref blew the whistle before the 1-0. I admit that the second one was wrong.
Should we blame the referees that France did not score one single goal? That the englishmen who invented football didn't automatically win? Or that Holland isn't even IN the world cup?
If football wasn't about surprise, should we all just stop playing saying; "I give up, Argentina/Italy/Brazil etc are too good. There's no point for us to try". That's crap.
Everybody accuses the referees when they lose. Why don't look at yourself and analyze what you did wrong? Has anyone accused Giovanni Trapattoni for his "Ultra Defensive" style, or just look at Figo when the Koreans tackled or took the ball from him. He stopped playing looking like a questionmark. His body language said: "Can't you see who I am!? I am Figo!
I say football is fantastic and this World Cup is more interesting than ever.

Henrik: I'm aware of the difference between a red and yellow card. I know that Totti was given his second yellow for the alleged "flop" in the box. It's just common knowledge that 2 yellows = a red. The bottom line is that the ref made the decision to throw Totti out of the game at a critical time. The instant replay clearly showed it was a TERRIBLE call.
I'm no big fan of european football. I personally despise the Italian style of taking a 1-0 lead and then pulling the entire team back on defense. It sure makes for a boring match. However, there certainly were some strange calls that dramatically affected the outcome of the games. I think it's terrible that poor officiating played such a large part in the story of both matches. If I felt that the pompous, over-paid Italian team had been beaten fairly, I would have sat back and laughed. However, even I can objectively tell when the refs screw up. It happened in both of these matches.
Anyway, my pick is for Brazil to win it all. They seem to be the only team that is able to play a free, aggressive style in the most important matches. |
