Hi there.
Most of the following stuff was done for my portfolio over the last six to eight months. I tried to cover different areas like Illustration, Concept Art etc.
My Website is at: http://www.drakken.de
Comments to my illustrations and website are really appreciated.
I also switched often between Photoshop and Painter, because i was not able to opt for one of them...which would be better because i don't know either PS or Painter inside out
So here we go:
Illustration:
Painter
Painter
Painter
Photoshop
Photoshop
Photoshop
Painter
All grayscale and B/W done in Painter
Concept Art:
Photoshop

Painter

Painter
Photoshop
Marker and Pencil sketches
The following two are based on google sketch up
Digital sketches
And finally some concepts done for James Cox, the writer and director of 'Wonderland (2003), with Val Kilmer'
I hope there are a few things that you like...and i hope to solve my Photoshop-Painter dilemma soon...
thx for watching |

Real nice stuff, I really like your sketches of your environments, very well handled.
Can't wait to see more. _________________ Truth is the essence of life, if that truth flows freely from you then why do so many choose to ignore it? --me |

Your "Digital sketches" are definately my favourites of your portfolio. Nice creatures too. Some of your images still look unfinished tho. I'd give some of them another 2 hours since they're worth it. However I would only give the best stuff into the portfolio. You've got alot to choose from. |

@3nasty
at least a bit rougher
@Max
thx Max. could you be so kind and point some out that you think might need more work? I am a bit blind concerning my stuff at the moment.
btw i can't believe that my sketches (especially the enviros) got the most positive reaction...

Some really nice stuff, I think the looser piece look nicer generally. Some pieces look "off" I wish I could offer some better advice than that! Maybe some light sources are a bit muddled and maybe you could be more selective with which areas you add more detail too. |

Erich, yup. I know that feeling. After hours of work that can happen.
These are the ones I'd pick if it had to be my portfolio so take it with a grain of salt : )
16 images (some being combined)
Illustration: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 17
Concept Art: 1, 6, 7/8/9/10, 14
Marker and Pencil sketches: 1/2/3, 5
Digital sketches: 1, 2, 3
Here and there you could touch up the stuff to give it a more polished feeling.
Your last one is nice.
by the way. been to your site. and theres some great stuff. some of those girls in the illustration section are worth your portfolio! |

sorry for the late reply
@Awetopsy
thx a lot
@iandredd
thx, i think i know what you mean
@Max
wow, that is quite a bunch
Now that i have more time i will look over them again...but i think it's a question of if i am able to see what you see. I looked over the first one and could not tell which areas need to be worked over again...the figure?
In some paintings i also found areas that could be worked over again...
thx a lot for picking those out

I love the one with the hippo dude and invisible man. Their *kind of* like mirror images, looking at the way they're both running. But then again, they're physically so different. A hippoman and an invisible man, what a good pair of heroes! |
