That's actually really nice. It's verging on looking like a "copy of a photograph", but the looseness of it and the mix of soft and shape edges makes it work.

I'd recommend keeping some of that looseness.

wow, nice, like this one. though... the nose looks like its out of perspective, just a little bit, or maybe not.. and the ear looks like its too low, could be raised a little bit. other than that its really beautiful, love the eyes

As Sumaleth says, keep the "looseness", actually think it won't hurt if its even looser in some places.

post progress when you got some!

Awesome portrait, nice balance of tight and loose. Your wife should be very pleased!

Yes, she is crazy...and Bob should know first hand. Poor sod...

And sure, I painted the ear regardless, the outcome being one of 2 reasons.

Firstly, her hair was done from memory...

Secondly, my memory is appauling, and upon further inspection of my wife who I see every day, it was clear to see that her hair was indeed longer than I first drafted...

Thirdly, I'm sorry dear...

p.s. I'm v.busy at the mo. and without a wacom Sad ...so progress is slow...
