experimented a little and just came up with something, u could make a brush gradient and define that as a new brush, white becomes untouched while black is getting the effect. save the brush and use this brush with the blur tool. I guess u could make a new brush with every new pic with adding the focal point where u want it.
Not a good fix but always something, will experiment with some other settings. Here's a screen with the experiment:
not as good transition as I wanted it, snif |

Nice Matthew, I always do that by duplicating the layer, blurring it, and then adding a layer mask with a radial gradient. Double-edges tho, so your method looks interesting.

Very inspiring stuff guys!
Samsonsreaper: I like your environments man. Your sharp vs smooth shape style is superb!
Hideyoshi: Very moody atmosphere in your underwater pic!
BlueFley: Man, I just love your stuff! Brilliant!
this ones inspired by your abstract approach Matthew. Glad you're back dude!

I remember the days when there were about 3 threads called "neeewwbieee" a day.
people calling for tutorials of "how to draw hair" all day long and funny
flame wars here and there.....yeah, sniff, the good old days
I tell ya tho. Even after cgtalk and conceptart have faded away sijun will still be breathing!
anyway. that's what I like about sijun. quiet. it's like a Zen Forum. Oh yeah.

Reference was partly used for the tiger one.
P-Rik - I really like your "making of" movs, It's always fun to see others paint.
XIA - Is that a upside-down exclamation mark? ;P
Matthew - Nice.
Max - Sweet lines and colors. |
