Still working on it... This is the second version, but it still remains true that I started this project last November... Surprised

However... I am learning one hell of a lot... Razz

a detail on the part I'm now painting...

Wow, thats some incredible detail you're pushing in to this - I didn't really get a sense of it from the full canvas shots. This painting would be so hypnotically fascinating to see in person.

Philip, I can't even imagine working on a single artistic project for a year. My hat it off!

When you're done, we'll have to psycho-analyze the implications of the various parts of this painting! Very Happy

Very nice progress. It's indeed astounding how much time and energy you spend on this painting. Respect!

I agree. I would have my inspiration gone in the half way.
It's just that if you stare at some single piece for too long, you will get lost in the details, and all the jokes that was there becomes less funny.
And atleast in my case, I always end up throwing everything in the trash bin, and not have the inspiration to even finish the painting because they all end up looking just stupid. That's why I like more doing speed paintings.

Double respect.

I wish I could have, but when I was younger, there is no way I would have had the patience to spend on this (and hopefully many subsequent) paintings... but now I look forward each day to continuing work on it... and every session is exciting for me. I have little idea why....?

Wow, great updates... I'm loving the detail as usual, and the receding background came out perfectly - there's a lot more depth now.

Its very entertaining to look at those characters, and see dozen of little stories that they represent. The photo could be bigger, so we could see better?
Anyway, nice job. Im looking foreward seeing this finished Very Happy

Hey, thanks for the bump... Getting very near the finish... Still have much of the far right side to do. Here's where it's at now. Clicking on the image displays a larger image, 1400 pixels wide. I've also posted closer details at http://philwms.blogspot.com ...

I see in the blog that you will be auctioning this on ebay. Since you've put a huge amount of work into this I was wondering what starting price you'll be setting. I wont be bidding on it, just curious.
