what's uhh? 
u don't like?
what did u draw on a computer with out illistrator, or photoshop or and other program u can get. lets see u draw some thing with only the paint program that comes on every computer. u cant use a scanner either! make some thing and post itso i can judge you.

this isn't really an MS Paint art community. So rather than all of us converting to the program of your choice, how about you try the programs we use? Then we could give much better critique to you. You should start using Painter or Photoshop with Wacom tablet anyway if you're anywhere near serious about digital art - even just for hobby. Or if you're more into pencils and stuff, get a scanner if you want to display your works in internet.
A small hint, you don't want your signature overwhelming your drawing. In the first image the character takes around 1/3 of the image, while your signature dominates 2/3.. |

Well, if nothing else, you've managed to get a lot of response very quickly, which is generally the case for work that falls outside of the bell curve, one way or the other.
I gotta say, I'm a little bit curious now to see that line work you're holding back. If you have a digicam, use that to get a shot of it and upload. |

Hey guys,
I just wanted to remind you guys that everyone starts some where. Maybe inuyasha girl just started off with the paint program or something. It isnt as good as it could be but you guys shouldnt make fun of her. we always need encouragement in the beginning/start off because that is when the opinion of others matter most.
She submitted her art work so we could see it. We all do that here right? Let's just give her a critique, which some of you have been doing. Saying words that are insulting rather than constructive is not necessary.
Sorry, I just wanted to say that because I remembered when I first started to do art. It was very crucial that I had the motivation to keep going. Maybe you guys are different but the words of other really hurt. Ya, that's all. |

Hey peace... what you write is right on... how-some-ever, when someone comes on like gangbusters as being really hot among a bunch of really, really hot illustrators/artists/serious painters, then perhaps a bit of a slap down is warranted. Don't know if you saw her original title for this thread, which she has changed, but it was not, "This is my art." I forgot what it was, but it was totally unjustifiably self-serving and ridiculous along with her attitude... What was the original thread title, Nicole?
Nicole... a touch of the humble will go far...

lol ya i saw it. It was something along the lines of "Am I great?"
Well.. Sometimes people usually do that when they are new to communities I guess? I dont know if it justifies it but atleast right now she changed it and is acting a bit different. Maybe im finding excuses but I hope you wont display that kind of attitude around here again inuyasha girl
And I agree inuyasha girl.. I think humbleness does go along way.. I think especially if you want critiques and stuff. This is just another critique. Hope you can take this.
PS you guys are all great illustrators/digital artist/designers. Youve seen and dealt with many different people. I know it gets on your nerve sometimes but try to be the bigger person. LIke you said, a bit of humbleness can go a long way |

If this isn't a joke (which for some reason I'm suspecting it is), you need to think about your forum decorum. You posted work on a board that is a tightly-knit community of talented artists that mutually respect each other. Most of us here have been posting for over 2 years. Without even so much as an introduction, you asked us to tell you if you are great or not. Given the other work on this board (which 5 minutes looking around should have shown you), what do you expect the response to be?
Not only that, but when some of the more established posters around here (eyewoo, ranath, designboot, etc...) were trying to figure out what you were trying to accomplish, you were on the rude side to them. I think eyewoo was trying to figure out your age to decide how to critique you, as neither your artwork or your diction were good indicators of your maturity.
When you're new to a community, you need to be the polite and gracious one or you're going to risk putting everyone on the defensive (which goes for everyday life, too). You don't move into a new apartment and spend the day playing your stero at full-volume, so to speak.
Why don't you start over, reintroduce yourself on another thread, and ask for the help of the many very talented people on this board. Help that I'm sure they'll be happy to give you.
