Here's my semi-neat clutterbomb. Furniture by Ikea, desk toys by Hasbro, computer gear by HP, Acer, and Epson.

i read somewhere a while back that you should have black space behind the screen.. some say it works other say they don't notice any difference as long as their screen is calibrated.. i'm just trying it out Wink

I actually find having a soft light behind my monitor to be easier on the eyes than something really dark. I find it hard when there is high contrast between what I am focusing on and my periphery.

I used to have a lightbox pointing up below my desk to illuminate the wall behind my monitors. It was nice.

They're damn lucky it's electronic, so I can just plug in the headphone.

Skittles...man, I have a joke about skittles, but wife is calling for dinner. I'll tell it later.

You like it!

My working space improved much since then. Here is a reminder:

And wtf you've been smoking? Sugar canes?

hells yeah ! thats the one ... thats a mean looking room right there ...
simple, no fuss, concrete floor, what looks like an atlas on the wall to plan heists with, funky plastic green framed mirror, water bottles, old mattress...
thats loveliness.

sugar canes ? ....
no ... which reminds me, i havent had sugar cane for a while ...
but its allright, i dont like them much.

i roll my own ciggs ... 'real ciggs' are about $10 - $12 per pack here... way too expensive ...
so i got rollies,
they're $2.50 per pack.
if you roll them well, they last longer than packed ciggs.

they look extra long cos i roll a makeshift 'filter'.

and im drawing a mermaid.

.. edit: the ciggs in the ashtray are brown, cos theres water in there, the color seeps everywhere after a while.

You should stop smoking... My wife's first mother-in-law died from being a heavy smoker for 70 years at the age of 93. Of course most people die from it at a much younger age... Shocked

Holy god, Max. That's some serious poster-placarding you got there. Personally, I couldn't live in such a mess, I'd constantly hit my head because I wouldn't know where the walls are.

You should get rid of the couch.

Nice thread peeps. Max, how old are you. Your den reminds me of my room at my parents, in a good way! Smile

Just completed my desk with a tiny corner for elbow support. I feel like a man. "I can build things and...stuff"!

Sukhoi, saw it over at conceptart and I gotta say it's one of the finest work spaces I've seen so far. Clean, tidy and good use of space. Oh, and beautiful. You even have a reading corner! Very Happy

Here's mine, not much changed since the last time I showed it. I'm planning to get rid of the tv (right corner in the panorama pic) and have a whole wall that I can pin paper rolls to so I can draw big time. Also planning on printing some graphic designs I did and hang them up in there.

Jabo: Wow, that whole color scheme is pretty striking. Love those posters above the comp, especially

Tinusch: Thanks Smile After years of living in a patchworked ikea/bulky waste-disaster, I decided to sort things out and go for a stylish place. Turned out that white combined with sparks of red adds to my mood. I'm always happy when I'm here (well, almost). Gonna build a wall bookshelf tomorrow to store my artbooks. They are currently on my desk, but I want to have that space for sketching so I can throw out the shaky computer desk I use for drawing.

Next thing is decorating the walls with some decent large-format posters (I was thinking about something in the way of your piece "A Dose of Hot Lead" btw). The posters over my screen are pictures of Mars and Venus (see the connection? huh? Wink ) that I downloaded from the NASA-website. Printed them out and put them on 3mm foam plastic board.

The place you work in is where you spend most of your time. That's why it's important to make them as comfy as possible.
