Trip and I (artist and writer respectively) have been collaborating together for a while and with Shredded Moose we finally got around to creating a website. The comics and articles are a blast to do, but given this is an art forum, here's a sampling of what we have on the site.
*clicking either image takes you to our first comic
.
.
.
If you want to check out more, swing by the site we'd love to see you there. Also, any comments are beyond welcome, we always look forward to hearing what people have to say. Oh yeah, some of the comics are NSFW.
The style in the comics is obviously very different from a lot of what I've been seeing on this forum. I'm not sure how long ago Trip stumbled upon this forum but he said he was really impressed with the caliber of artwork he's seen here. I'm an artist myself (eventually some of my work make it's way onto our site) and I can really appreciate some of the skill I've been seeing around this place. Both Trip and I have a lot of respect for the artists we've seen around here, we look forward to hearing back from any of you guys/gals/people/sentient-computers/etc.
Piece out,

Thanks guys, those compliments mean a lot coming from fellow Sijun forummers. Here's another comic we did, Trip likes it when I storyboard out poses that are more interesting then having two characters standing side by side, something that seems to plague a lot of other comics I've seen around the web. I like to throw out action poses now and then because they're different and they can add some spice.
Lemme know what ya think. _________________ Shredded Moose - Web 2.0 taken to the Xtreme with ultra-mango potential! |

Thanks Hate, that's an awesome compliment. If you want I can look into it with out store to see how much one would go for. If you wanted to, drop me the specs on size and I'll see what's up.
In light of you throwing Learning Curve up here I figured I'd drop another one. This one really isn't making a point... well, I guess technically it could

Heavily inspired by penny arcade, huh?
The drawing is efficient, but I'm not so fond of this slapstick comedy... _________________ http://mv.cgcommunity.com/ |

We used to get comparisons like that often but not so much anymore. Actually, truth be told 'no' we don't look to PA for inspiration at all; though I can certainly see why people have that impression. I suppose if someone were to consider any illustration with clean line drawings and cell shading to be "inspired" by PA, then in that case I suppose you could say numerous artists are inspired by them. Trip just draws what works for him and I just storyboard what sounds fun _________________ Shredded Moose - Web 2.0 taken to the Xtreme with ultra-mango potential! |

Having been in the webcomic area myself in the past, i have to admit that i hate it when others compare comics to existing highly popular ones.
I personally don't think it looks at all like PA, unless you are talking about comedic guestures with black lines.
I love the style, the comedy has it's own style too. Keep it up, you got something really good goin. |

The humor style does remind me of Penny Arcade, but you're not writing about video games at least , and don't take it as an insult... that's just the vibe I get.
I don't know if that surfboard comic isn't actually making a point... but it's my favorite one out of all of them, it doesn't go halfway to over-the-top, it goes all the way there, and I wasn't expecting it so it worked for me. And the one where the kid gets his face slammed into a burner? What's the point of that one? I almost think you're making fun of kids with a certain disability I don't know about... and if that's the case I think you're a jerk and I hate you If it's not I kind of think that sort of thing gives off the wrong vibe.
Good luck though. |

It's great hearing we're not the only ones that get tired of, "hey, you're doing something that vaguely in a way, kinda sorta reminds me of a comic that's been around for a decade". When you're making comics with photoshop there are only so many artistic distinctions you can pull off from other comics when you have a personal preference for cell shading. I suppose I could ask Trip, if instead of Photoshop he could use Painter and give each strip a watercolor look to it, that'd probably get people to stop with the comparisons But for now I think we'll stick with cell shading, least as long as that's what holds Trip's interest. But besides that, we love how it's coming along!

We started out wanting to do the comic about video games, it's one of the things we're into. But as time's gone by we've given up *trying* to write about games and instead just doing whatever's fun. Right now we're enjoying random comedic threads and commenting on the lack of intelligence in the world.

The kid with the face in the heater, "Learning Curve" is still a favorite. The only disability we're directly referring to is the 'stupidity' that's prevalent in society. Making fun of kids with mental handicaps wouldn't have been (in a comedic sense) appropriate in that strip. But I'm sure we'll find ways to poke fun at them down the road, so no worries _________________ Shredded Moose - Web 2.0 taken to the Xtreme with ultra-mango potential! |

Hey, thanks man! If you feel like divulging *what* it is about that one you liked that'd be cool; but only if you feel like getting into it. I love hearing feedback
Here's another one.
