Hi there... Hope everyone is having a good day!
I have put together a collection of what I think are the 50 Greatest classical works of art. This includes art works from artists as diverse as Salvador Dali, Leonardo Da Vinci and Bosch!
Please feel free to comment on my choice and perhaps to make any suggestions that you might have as I will soon be expanding my selection to 100.

So delighted that you have seen fit to include 4 works by Bruegel
IMHO, one of the 3 or 4 greatest painters ever... ![Shocked](images/smiles/icon_eek.gif) _________________ HonePie.com

I remember in the 80's, in Germany, there was a TV series called "100 Meisterwerke" [100 Masterpieces], which introduced paintings of museums from all over the world. Within 10 minutes of each series, one painting was introduced, analysed by an art historian and related to other works. This programme was broadcasted mostly Sunday evening and had 5 million (!) viewers. That was quite remarkable!
Interestingly, the title of the series, has been extended during its course, into "1000 Meisterwerke" [1000 Masterpieces], which illustrates how difficult it is to make a representative selection.
On Wikipedia (German) are a few examples of these paintings.

There are really some significant names and titels to be found. |

Thanks guys for your positive comments
I am currently updating the list and it should be up to 100 in the next few days.
Any thoughts are welcome for additional works to add?
