No worries, simply fill a layer with grey in photoshop then use a nice fat halftone filter (set on 4 I think) then set layer to multiply and mask the areas you do/don't want and hey presto! Instant faux 'retro' feel. Thanks again for the kind words.

Hey thanks for the tip! I had always disliked the halftone filter in Photoshop because it always made the dots too big... but that's because I was trying to use the effect on web projects... it never occured to me that it'd actually work fine at print resolution! _________________ Freelance Illustration & Design | A Portrait of Envy |

Thanks guys ... I love the old stuff with the big dots! I'm investigating other old school zip-a-tone effects, if anybody has any tips I'd love to hear 'em, particularly 'lined' and 'reverse gradation' effects (pick up an old Wally Wood comic and you'll see what I mean).
