2 teaser pages from Channel Zero Studios' MASTERS OF WAR...
________________________________________
dialogue balloons are temp... but here's the set up...
MASTERS OF WAR: Several treasure hunters from uncharted parts of Earth seek the most valuable and secret artifact in the universe - the STAR STONE, said to know all man has ever known, and all he will ever know. When it turns out to be wielded by a household of seemingly invincible aristocratic serial killers, the team resort to their own cache of forbidden ancient weaponry to even the odds...

Here's a closer look at designs for the broadsword-wielding Major Thrett, gryorazor-wielding Kara Flynn, and the unstoppable death-droid they're battling - The Obliterator...

The line work's pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of the coloring style I see in these images. The coloring pretty much kills the image for me. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

seems joe mad inspired. For me its the dialogue... I dunno it just seems too juvenile for the characters you're portraying. Its like they are 30 somethings talking like 16 year olds. It doesnt fit for me.
The artwork is fine and the coloring competent. I think its on the right track for sure.
not trying to be negative but the dialogue really takes it down a notch for my taste. |

Appreciate the comments, big time! The art and dialogue are all works in progress to be sure, and I'm still trying to get a balance right between fun and tense (I guess I've started out erring on the side of fun - from my own point of view). Future pages will change to a more matt, less saturated look over time, and I'm pretty sure I will get character's personalities to be more serious - or at least less glib - as the realization of what they're really getting involved in starts to creep up on them.
Here's a concept shot of some vehicles that may be used in Masters of War's upcoming 'Black Harvest' war...

Cheers Lorenzo! Two more concept sketches here that I did for Isys 1002 Entertainment, of the main characters from their upcoming sci fi comic book Kut'tah & Mah Sun...
And here's a concept sketch of a member of spacefaring rock group and saviours of the universe, Jamm Star 3x, commished by Isys1002 Entertainment...

Another Masters Of War concept pic now: The Necrogaunts, or 'Zoms' as they're often referred to (by me). At the right moment, the masks of these undead footsoldiers' slam open to reveal a hovering, irresistably hypnotic orb that forces their victims to step into nightspace, where they renounce all they hold dear in their desperation to escape 'the worst place in the universe'. No prizes what happens to them next - yep - they're 'conscripted' as more Zoms!

Here's an early image of Master's of War's Major Thrett, and the war droid Obliterator - fighting on the same side (an unlikely situation now!)

Another monster, these guys are space-faring immortals who have outrgrown evolution, having surpassed all 'learning' necessary for survival. They're called the Dunn, perhaps because to all physical intents they are... but they're not averse to using the 'lower' species as game for their bloodsport...

Thanks designbot. Want another Masters of War concept piece? You got it... quite a panorama here, and the Earth is looking quite (ahem) peaky on the right. Is that a gun on your continent or are you just pleased to (etc)...!

Couple of character portraits here:
Renegade druid Wizdro (having just reactivated the powers of Stonehenge and announced the return of the age of Avalon)...
...and Major Thrett - a military cop whose sword (confiscated from an alien antiquity thief of war hotzones) draws energy directly from the stone circles (even more reason for him to watch his head, I'd say!)...

Here's a concept pic of Lijia, Masters of War's queen peddler of the ultimate high in the universe - edible gold. Naturally, she doesn't touch the stuff herself.
