Hi all!

I have been trying to do my own website, but I'm just not very good with the technical bits. I noticed alot of you use something called coppermine, what exactly is that and how does it work? If someone has a good contact for a web designer, let me know too.

Thanks!

Free gallery software that you upload to your web-space and configure through your web browser. Allows you to upload images to it in the web browser, and gives you a selection of other gallery type features, like comments, batch upload etc.

It comes ugly, so you may want to spend time customising the html templates and stylesheet. The stylesheet is a the thing which controls the look of all the different elements of the gallery. You can go in there and make titles one colour, and sub heading another, turn borders off, or make links bold.

It can be made to look reasonably tasteful, for example on wasssup's site, supalette.com, or cicinimo's site*, artpad.org.

*I get stuck in a redirect-loop when I try to load this :(

A word of advice... Make sure whoever does your site spends time making it easy for you to update... add and/or remove images and text, etc.
