Have you got any web cams, scanners, or digital cameras plugged in that are trying to transfer an image? |

It could also be an external drive, jump drive or any other similar USB connected device. I had a similar issue last year with a jump drive; for some reason it was being seen as an imaging device. _________________ - Tom Carter

It must be the scanner.... which I attached several days ago.
It seems to have calmed down now. I'm going to leave the scanner attached, and disconnect it if it starts up again to see if that kills it!
Thanks guys... _________________ HonePie.com

Indeed it's the Scanner....it comes when you push the foreside buttons. The scanner is looking for a twain32 program.
Are you sure that nothing is pushing the buttons? If ther's nothing, the cause is that your scanner is not going well... hope that he is under guarantee!

I'll be darn!!! That's what it was. I have a thin Cannon which I simply had propped on the floor leaning against the wall when not using it. It was propped so that the scanner button was down and obviously getting pushed by the weight of the scanner against it....
My stupidity at times will never cease to amaze me... Although, in my defense, I was not very aware of that button since I have never used it. Rather I just use the menus in PShop to scan.
Thanks ... _________________ HonePie.com

Bwahahaha.. Thats brilliant.
I had a good hour the other day where my wacom tablet stopped working, so I tried restarting the computer. When that didnt work I installed the driver again... that didnt work either. And after around 4 restarts and 3 drivers later I discovered that the tablet wasnt plugged in the USB port. |

Waaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....
Don't worry, you're not alone!
One Day, someone called me for a keyboard problem: she wasn't able to write numbers and some letters were always doing that: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ...
When I arrived I saw that she had putted a 800 pages book on the keyboard....
