It' finally done. The colours are not on the par with the drawing beneath (check the WIP thread) but I couldn't do any better for now. I have loads to learn about colours and enviroments.
Comments and conversation is welcome. |

This is a lot better, altough It might be a bit too dark as I yet again had some issues with adobe presets. |

I mean its really nice but the positioning of the hands looks off to me. It looks like a weak slice and looks uncomfortable and unconfident. _________________ As simple as an apple with insides of a honeycomb |

I think the desaturated version with red blood would look incredible.
Great atmosphere and composition! Well done!! |

I like the rendering and the color both a lot. Works just fine. Waynebebay is right about the pose though, it looks like a rather awkward position for a swing to end up at. |

In think the poses are great! They really make the picture. I love the new gorilla in the background.
Great work
My favourite version of this image is the last WIP you posted. It's a really strong image and the frazetta vibe you were going for totally works and gives it a lot of style. In the newest one, the values are strange and harder to understand, and the overall colour shift has made it weaker, imo. |

the color kills a lot of deep in the pic :-/
But the drawing is nicely done _________________ *

i still think it looks like he hasn't swung his sword. How do you swing a sword like that? I mean everything else is amazing but that pose. It definitely makes the gorilla behind him look like a bigger threat than it should. He's going to lose the battle. _________________ As simple as an apple with insides of a honeycomb |

Excellent work, makes me want to draw now. I was just browsing through.
Basically being a kinda tropical environment, I was hoping for some wetness in the pic, some sort of random water droplets here and there from the trees or what not. Although the pic is finished now so oh well. _________________ Why dont you clone yourself!

I really like this image and to me the poses looks ok.
The first thing that stood out though was the lack of depth. You have a lot of colour variation in there but the overall values seems a bit flat.
I guess its a matter of taste but I did this quick paintover just to show what i mean. I hope you dont mind!
The sketchy vegitation and the sharp character is simple and good. Nice work! _________________ www.karlsimon.com

nice freebooter!
i think the problem could be the blood, it looks like he swung his sword a moment ago, and therefore the blood shouldn't be in the air. if the blood sprayed from the gorilla's chest and off the sword (but in the other direction) i think it would look more dynamic... i dunno
very cool pic though. |
