*deleted cheesy text that sucked*

hopefully i'll have time to finish this before the deadline, I have not been painting much lately and it would be fun to make something more finished for a change

Wow,...looks really good so far. Your concept is very interesting!!
I think the first composition is very good.
I love the way he's writing on the paper on the edge of the table ; )

Thanks Max! I hope that in the end I have been able to get the weightless theme more incorporated with the image..

Thanks Tomasis, thats interesting, what makes him look like an apostle?

Cheers Suma, yes the man is referenced from a photo. I think the guy was homeless so it kinda feels wrong to post the picture.. But due to crappy camera settings by moi and the fact that I pretended to take a picture of my girlfriend and thus putting the focus on her, it's rather blurry, so I suppose it doesn't matter. Not sure what rules applies to showing photos of people without their approval...

I got the feeling that he felt quite uncomfortable and out of place sitting there, only using a small part of the table and the chair

Neff, fors, thanks! You got valid points there, I think i lost my intent along the way, in a way... It always happens when I have decided beforehand to make something "finished"... for some reason I then start caring too much about details and minor problems and loose the big picture.. well, now it's taking a turn to the surreal instead, man I'm getting tired of this picture! Confused

lovely! I feel a little of Edward Hopper works here :D

regarding apostles, for most paintings I've seen humans with books are only apostles :D That's why your idea is interesting to contrast to typical ideas for weightless theme.

I think it looks great. The wall could use a little attention, just so it's not so plain, but it still looks great overall. I have to say I loved the second-to-last version, how the galaxy was just floating there around him, as if it were a reflection of what was going on in his mind.
