Hey guys!!
I finnaly started working on my interpretation of our wightless topic.
I sketched some thumbnails with ballpointpen and marker to get various ideas down.
Here are some versions. Very rough, however it should give you an idea of several posibilities,...
Here are some simple "girl flying in environment" scenes.
I also drew some quick (bad anatomy,..argh) studies of flying girls to express a "lightly" and gentle feeling,...
That's it for now. Thanks for comments! More to come! |

Those images look really impressive. I love marker sketches
My personal favourite is the enormous obelisk-like rock, floating in mid-air, but i also like the other concepts a lot. One of them, with clothes flying around, remind me of this weird scenario i try to picture sometimes when i'm bored:
What if Earth suddenly and very abruptly stopped spinning and everything on its surface flew off on a tangent into space? I wonder if the water of the oceans would hurl itself off into the void along with everything else...Maybe we'd all be cut to shreds by the wall of air that would hit us at 465 m/s (1040 mi/hr)? But maybe, just maybe...we'd survive and experience weightlessness. Maybe we wouldn't get to space though...maybe we'd all just smack into the nearest wall and liquify.
Sorry for rambling on randomly like that. I'll offer something more constructive next time. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |

Great sketches! I'm sure this will turn out very good!
Where did you get that pen? I couldn't find anything useful yet. |

Hey Nova, thanks a lot buddy!! Yeah, I decided to do some marker stuff again. I am still faster this way than with PS, at least concerning thumbnail sketching. The obelisk is also a favourite of mine,...at the moment I am working on some other concepts tho. This time I don't have that much time. I'll try to do a simple scene,...with impact of course ; )
Your imaginative scenario sounds indeed funney. I have no idea what would happen. I'd definately shoot some reference images though ; )
fruity_loops: Thanks! Well, I hope so,... ; ) The best markers imo are Copic Markers. They are very expensive but worth the money. For linework I eighter use Copic Multi Liner or normal ballpointpens like this time. (you can find some cheap ones at Libro) |

fruity_loops: just ask if you need more information!
I'll post some progress soon. I decided to drop the girl in exterior thing and started working on some interior scenes...maybe it'll work out this way ; )

Okay. here it is. Pheeew,...close before deadline,...I can't work on it anymore, I call it finished,...maybe even slightly overworked(-texured). After skipping everything I've started so far I had just some hours left to finish this,...
Not what I was after however I am satisfied,...more or less ; )
Here is the blockmodeling I rendered out to have something to work with in Photoshop.
and heres another random progress shot. maybe should have stayed that way,...
I always try to experiment with different techniques. It worked okay this time. I used photoreference for the womans pose and face. |
