Well, that sounds more like a simulator than a time machine, since only you are eperiencing things, but still a very neat idea
I think with the way people are thinking of actual time travel today says that it would be impossible to travel back BEFORE the time machine was invented (don't ask me, space foam and worm-holes), so that whole "go back and tell yourself such-and-such" I guess is impossible. According to how they believe time travel would be possible.
Blah.
Personally I don't think time travel would be possible, only instantaneous travel will be. But that's just IMO!
EDIT: I really wish anything I said made any sense. I can't put what's in my head down on paper well, sorry
