hey guys, figured i should start a wip thread as well, might help me to actually finish something.
Started out by doing some abstract thumbnails to get a nice idea and compo:
Decided for the top left one, got an idea of a planet/atmosphere and something/someone floating above it, but completely messed it up, and made some ugly tornadoes instead all i need now is a lensflare!
i might make another one, not sure this idea is interesting enough..
any thoughts? ..much appreciated! |

I really like your thumbs. You can read very complex forms in them and imagine quite some stuff going on there. In your first concept you lost those forms. I know you wanted to make everything more accurate but I think it's better to keep some undefined shapes here and there. Let's see what happens?! I'd recommend you to pick 5 more of these thumbs and make some quick paintovers on larger scale to point out what your mind reads in them. Keep loose! Nice work so far!!! |

Hey max, thanks! i absolutely agree, the thumb was way more interesting.
i think you nailed what my problem is though, keeping things loose.. i really tend to overwork things and make it stiff and flat
i'll be back with better ones |

i definately love some of your thumbs, and that's an idea i never really thought of trying.
but, i do have to say, your 1st piece gives me an eerie feeling in the pit of my stomach, and i just love it.
the colors are an excellent choice and i love his pose, definately gives the feeling of some kind of spiritual adventure/maybe a dream scene.
thanks for the inspiration |
