Hi guys,

your pictures are really impressive.
I hope, my question isn't in a wrong place, I thought, it might fit in here.

I'm a bloody beginner and it would be great, if you can give me some assistance with starting speedpainting.
I have read some tutorials, I have looked some videos, but the skill comes only from practising, I think. So, what do you me suggest to do?
Should I paint after references? Are there useful hints, useful exercises?

I don't know, so I thought, I may ask here for some pieces of advice.
I have a Wacom Graphire 4 Classic (DinA6).

Thanks so long, joerka

just start slapping color to canvas. Don't wait for inspiration or anything like that. Cover the whole canvas at start so you don't have any white showing. Then start to lay in some basic shapes. If you have a scene in your mind, try to paint it. I would try to paint without reference first, and when you run into a trouble with painting something (like a person in a certain pose), I would probably get a reference to help me out. But copying a scene, not useful in my opinion.

Anyway this is what I did, took me about 15 mins, just paint to post. I didn't have an idea of what I was gonna do, just slapped color here and there and these rocks and mountains just.. emerged. Learn to use those happy accidents, they're your friend!
