10mins, superduper speedy. Probably not even worth posting. But here it is none-the-less. No reference.

Been lurking for an eternity and finally registered.
The discussion a few pages back was very interesting. It reminded me of several years ago when people discussed more. There's a lot of good info there.

Hi all!

Spacecat, relax a little, play around. 2 hrs seems much fairer to me (if you have them). Spooge once defined a Speedpainting (Authority! Smile ) as when the basic idea is layed out. No fumbling or client driven icing.

Udal, nice! Especially the forest
Freebooter that fetus really kills me!
Insane Lemur - the concrete gunman thing beats the tiger by far. Especially value wise. The blackness behind the Tiger flattens the image and takes away the tigers scale (only noticed the woman after a close look). Try to fade out the depth in those light greens.

Floris, Vahn - nice entry! More!!

Copying paintings I want to learn from is what I try now to improve.

jr: this is great. strong atmosphere and storytelling, even without words.
francis: crispy!
ManiakS: neat tones and compos. so effective!
mistsui: i love this one. you should consider doing a small comic in that style really.
udal: very nice pieces on the previous page
Vahn: that picture speaks to me in a lot of ways! love it.

upgrade 2 for a 2003 sketch

Good job all!

Quick selfportrait. No wonder I don't draw my ugly mug often.

awesome(again, with the word!) stuff everyone..

i'm also enjoying the discussions, i think it would be nice to perhaps give some simple critiques to each other, i remember spooge doing that a while ago.. it was really helpful. for example, i liked the overpaint duracel did for matthew (even though matthew did a real quickie, i think it helps others).

isn't true that giving critique in forms of an overpaint or comment is keeping the fundamentals fresh for advanced painters as well?

ok, paint to post. bougureaue(spelling?)-study:

sparth: the sense of chaos in that one is really cool.

floris didden: welcome!

maniaks: nice colors! Smile

flask: my swe-bro! i wanna see more color speedies, really liked some of those last ones!

More OC goodness! This time with my friend Sam. You can view his website here. http://www.samhendricks.com

Sam is on the left, he did the colors for his girl and i did the girl on the right, her colors and the background. Im not sure, but i dont recall seeing anyone else posting a video on their collab of a full finished painting. So this might be a first. Still, its amazing and really fun to watch. Im not sure how educational it is, but if it turns out to be, well then im glad. Here is the video and the finished drawing.

The first two are just me by myself.

Notic: Bouguereau Razz

Doing overpaints is great. It shouldn't be about finishing a sloppy sketch for someone, but pointing out strange artifacts in "better paintings" too. Maybe there should be a consensus about not adding overpaints to one's portfolio though, as it has caused problems before (spooge was claimed to be ripping off someone because of his overpaints etc.)

Speaking of rip offs, here's my homage to John Berkey.. Mind the perspective!

Been drawing for nine hours today, and decided I should take a thirty minute break for a speedpainting.

Sparth, like the new one.

Here's another speedpainting, started off as few blobs on paper that then crystalized into something more solid.
